Welcome to this relaxation recording from La Dolce Vita,
Especially designed to help you activate your La Dolce Vita or sweet life.
It will help you to relax and set you up for more positive days,
To let go of the mind chatter and sleep well.
This recording will put you into a deep state of relaxation,
Therefore if you're doing anything that requires your full attention,
Such as driving,
Operating machinery or looking after tiny people or pets,
I suggest you stop doing that thing or save this for later when you're in a quiet space and can enjoy the relaxation in a comfortable,
Quiet and cosy spot where you'll be undisturbed for at least 20 minutes but probably more.
I'm going to assume that you've done that now and that you're tucked up in a sweet spot where you're able to completely relax,
Preferably lying down with your head comfortably supported,
Ready to sleep.
Maybe grab a glass of water ready for the morning or an extra blanket to keep you warm or even a pillow or cushion to support your head.
Allow yourself some time to really settle in and ensure that you're comfortable.
Pause the recording if you need to and allow yourself some time to settle down and relax.
As you close your eyes and begin to relax,
Just begin to relax,
Thoughts may pass through your thoughts may pass through your mind,
Drift through your mind like clouds scutting across the sky on a bright summer's day,
The blue of the sky against the white fluffy clouds scutting across the sky on a breezy day,
Allowing the thoughts to pass by,
Drift by,
Not engaging with them,
Just allowing them to pass on by as you begin to drift down,
Drifting down,
Drifting down,
Deeper,
Deeper down into relaxation,
Deeper down,
Drifting,
Drifting with the clouds as they scurred across the sky,
Allowing those thoughts to pass by,
Allowing those thoughts to pass by,
You do not need them now,
Clouds simply passing by and thoughts drifting by.
As your mind begins to let go,
A conscious mind can let go too and drift with your thoughts,
Your body can just begin to relax too,
Any tension you hold in your body,
Often we hold in our upper body,
Maybe your jaw,
Neck,
Shoulders,
Just allowing that tension to drain away,
Allowing any tension in the body to drain away,
To drain down like water draining away,
Draining down and draining away,
You get a sense of seeing all that tension and stress just flowing away like water and as you see the water flowing and draining away,
You start to feel so relaxed,
So relaxed as the muscles loosen and relax,
As the tension drains out of them and drains away,
Enjoy feeling relaxed in your mind and body as all that tension is draining away,
Draining down the blood coal,
Just taking it and any tension away from you.
And now that you've let your mind begin to relax and just let that tension drain down away from your body,
I'd like you to imagine a beautiful woodland on a warm summer's day,
Just create a picture in your mind and step into that picture,
A picture that's so clear in your mind's eye that you feel as if you're there,
Get a sense of the temperature around you,
Even the smell of the bark on the trees,
You see the trees in front of you,
The brown of the bark,
The green of the leaves fluttering on the trees,
Different shades of green,
You hear the sound of a gentle breeze ruffling through the leaves on the trees,
You hear the birds singing high up in the treetops,
You see the branches that stretch out in a canopy above you,
They sway slightly with the breeze,
You see the light dappling through the trees,
The light shines through creating a shaft of light on the ground,
Are there ferns at the base of the tree,
Can you see anything else down there at the base of the tree,
Twigs lie on the ground,
Crunchy twigs that make that snapping sound if you walk upon them,
The earth has that damp mossy smell you associate with woodland,
The air is warm but not too hot,
You see the roots of the tree beneath your feet,
They spread across the ground reaching all the way across the woodland floor until they go down into the soil,
All gnarled and knobbly those roots as they go deep down into the soil,
Anchoring the tree,
Making the tree strong and deeply rooted,
Able to sway and stay put at the same time,
To bend with the wind and the rain,
But knowing it's deeply held firm by its roots,
Lightning and thunder may storm around the tree but the roots always hold firm,
The tree stays safe,
It keeps the birds and animals that live in the tree safe too,
Can you see any birds high up in the branches,
Nesting,
Hiding,
Nurturing,
Absorbing all the detail of the woodland around you,
Is that a stream in the distance,
The sound of water,
Aware of all the sights,
Sounds,
Smells,
Even touch sensations as you feel that warm gentle breeze brush your skin,
All these sensations are anchoring you here in this place,
Watching nature around you,
Being still in the moment as you watch,
Hear,
Smell and listen,
Touch the gnarled bark,
Run your hand over its surface,
Feel its rough sensations,
Look at all the different shades of brown that make up that tree bark,
See what you see there,
Now imagine yourself sitting down on the earth with your back to the tree,
Look up into the branches above you,
Seeing the tree from a new perspective,
A new angle,
Feeling the support of the trunk of the tree at your back,
See yourself at one with the tree,
Merging into the tree,
You and the tree are one,
You are so tall stretching up into the sky,
Reaching up and feeling your roots down,
Feeling your stretch,
Feeling anchored and feeling your strength,
And as you feel down into the earth,
Maybe even put your hands down onto the earth,
You notice something on the floor,
In this deeply rooted sacred space in nature,
You find a book and it opens on a poem,
When despair for the world grows in me,
And I wake in the night at the least sound,
In fear of what my life and children's lives may be,
I go and lie down where the wood drake rests in his beauty on the water and the great heron feeds,
I come into the peace of wild things who do not tax their lives with forethought of grief,
I come into the presence of still water and I feel above me day blind stars waiting with their light,
For a time I rest in the grace of the world and I am free,
You enjoy a deep sense of stillness and calm that that poem was left there just for you,
A calmness and confidence that you are able to sway with the breeze,
To sway with the events of your life,
But stay safe in the knowledge that you are strong and anchored by deep roots,
Roots of family or perhaps friends,
The roots that make you who you are,
Rooted in nature at one with the tree,
You have become that tree,
You feel yourself merge with the consciousness of the tree,
Drawing on this consciousness whenever you need it,
You are at one with the earth,
Like the tree,
Earthed and grounded,
And as you enjoy that sense of feeling earthed and grounded,
You look up into the canopy of the leaves,
Seeing the light dapple again through the canopy and through the leaves as they shimmer in the breeze,
Fluttering,
Rustling,
As you watch one leaf detaches itself and starts to flutter down towards the ground,
You watch that leaf as it twists and turns in the light breeze,
As it moves down and down,
Taking you down and down into a restful sleep,
As you watch the leaf moving down and down,
When you lie in your bed at night,
Your subconscious mind will know that this is the signal,
When you're lying comfortable in your bed at night,
Supported as you are in nature,
This is the sign for you to go to sleep,
The signal that the subconscious mind is waiting for,
To let it know that it's time to take over and allow the conscious mind to drift away somewhere else,
Somewhere it can rest,
Off to another place,
As it's not needed now,
Your subconscious mind will know this now,
It will know it's triggered to take over and allow you deep,
Refreshing sleep,
Just as you breathe in and out,
In and out,
Night moves into day,
And day into night,
In that natural rhythm as you sleep at night and wake in the day,
As the sun rises as you awake,
As the moon rises you sleep,
Following the natural rhythm of sleep,
Just as you follow the patterns of your breath,
In and out,
In and out,
That gentle soothing rhythm as you watch that leaf detach itself,
Twist and turn in the breeze,
Dancing in the air,
As it moves gently down,
Taking you into a deep and refreshing sleep,
Seeing this now,
When you go to bed at night,
Seeing the woodland and your journey into sleep,
A safe place,
A relaxing place,
When no one can trouble you,
Expect anything of you,
Just allowing yourself to rest,
Allowing your subconscious mind to be there,
To take over,
Giving your conscious mind some time off of all the mind chatter,
And some time to rest ready,
Refreshed for the day ahead.
