Take a moment to arrive here,
Feeling yourself settle.
There are moments when the sense of not being enough can feel almost physical,
Like a tightening somewhere inside,
A pressure,
A quiet but persistent voice that says you should be doing better,
Being better,
Handling things differently than you are.
Sometimes it shows up after a mistake.
Sometimes it shows up in comparison with someone else.
And sometimes it's there for no clear reason at all.
Just a background feeling that you're falling short of some invisible standard.
And when that feeling appears,
It can seem so convincing,
Like it's telling the truth about you.
But what's often happening isn't actually about your worth.
It's about protection.
Your nervous system trying to organize safety,
Belonging,
Or control in a world where those things have felt uncertain.
Self-criticism can feel harsh.
But underneath it is usually an attempt to help,
To prevent rejection,
Failure,
Or pain.
Nothing about this means something is wrong with you.
It means you're human.
For the next few minutes,
We're not going to try to change the feeling of not being enough.
We're just going to create a little space around it and let your system settle.
Allow your eyes to close.
Let your attention rest in your body.
Notice the contact between you and whatever is supporting you right now.
Just feel the weight of your body being held.
You don't have to hold yourself up completely on your own.
Notice your breath.
No need to change it.
Just recognizing that breathing is already happening.
You might begin to notice sensations in your body where there's tension or ease,
Where there's movement or stillness.
There's no right experience to have here.
If the feeling of not being enough is present,
You might gently acknowledge it.
Just noticing this is here right now and seeing if it's possible to relate to that feeling with a small amount of curiosity.
Is something passing through awareness?
You might even place a hand on your chest or abdomen,
Your body responding to touch.
Just for a moment,
You might experiment with the possibility that nothing about you needs to be evaluated right now.
Not your progress or reactions.
Not your personality.
Just existing.
Let your exhales lengthen now.
Slow breaths out.
Allowing your shoulders or jaw to soften as they want to.
There's nothing you need to force.
Your body already knows how to find settling.
You might notice that underneath the thoughts,
Underneath the evaluations,
There's a deeper essence of you.
The place that isn't measuring.
The place that isn't comparing.
The place that isn't deciding whether you're enough.
Just awareness itself.
Rest there for a few breaths.
As we begin to come back,
You might take a slightly deeper breath.
Feeling your body again.
The space around you.
Remembering that the feeling of not being enough is something that happens.
Not something that defines you.
When you're ready,
You can open your eyes.
Taking your time.
