So I'm going to invite you to close your eyes either fully or partially.
It's dropping into your body.
I'm taking a moment to think about three or four things about yourself that you really appreciate,
That you really like.
You won't be asked to share this with anybody so please allow yourself to be honest.
Three or four things that deep down you really like about yourself.
If you're feeling any discomfort,
As you think of these things.
Just remember you're not saying that you're always like this.
You're not saying that you're better than anybody else because of this.
Just as you would acknowledge things about other people that you like,
Allowing yourself to acknowledge the things about yourself that you like.
There are things about you that are pretty jolly good as well.
As you're thinking about these things,
Bringing to mind any other people or beings who helped you develop these good qualities.
Friends,
Parents,
Teachers,
Pets,
Authors of books,
People who made movies,
People who had a positive impact on you that helped you to develop this quality or these qualities that you like about yourself.
And as you as you think of each of these beings,
Offering them some gratitude,
A little appreciation for how they positively impacted your life.
So anybody in your life,
People or animals,
Who taught you these things,
Contributed to you learning these things,
Told you things,
Showed you things,
Guided you,
Offering some appreciation,
Some gratitude to them.
When we honor ourselves,
We also honor all of these other beings who helped us,
Who nurtured us,
Who taught us,
Who mentored us.
We're honoring all of our teachers,
Our positive influences.
This is a wisdom practice.
We're seeing the interconnection between us and all of the positive influences in our life.
The people who wanted to help us,
Wanted to teach us and guide us.
Allowing yourself to savor this feeling.
You really are special.
All these people and beings cared for you.
They wanted your well-being.
Allow yourself to feel this.
And as we move towards the end of this little practice,
Bringing your awareness to your breathing for a couple of breaths.
Expanding your awareness to your body as a whole,
Feeling the physicality of your body.
When you're ready,
Opening your eyes,
Becoming aware of your surroundings.
