Transcript

Welcome to this meditation on the power of stillness.

Start by bringing yourself fully into the moment.

Find your here and now by taking a deep breath in through your nose,

Holding that breath at the top,

And then slowly exhaling fully out of a slightly opened mouth.

We'll do this two more times.

Take a deep breath in through your nose.

Hold your breath at the top.

And then slowly exhale fully.

One more time.

Take a deep breath in through your nose.

Hold your breath at the top.

And then slowly exhale fully.

From this centered place,

Stop and consider what it means to you to be still.

Oftentimes,

We confuse activity with power in the world.

However,

It's in the stillness of your mind,

In being at peace with yourself,

Where true power resides.

We'll spend some time today helping you to find a place of physical,

Mental,

And emotional stillness.

In this stillness,

You can find respite.

In the stillness,

You can hear your heart speak.

If you haven't already,

Close your eyes.

Just feel your chest rise and fall as you take each breath.

Stay focused on the movement of your chest,

Up and down,

Rising and falling.

As you continue to be aware of your chest rising and falling,

Rising and falling,

With each passing breath,

Begin to repeat to yourself,

I am still,

I am calm,

I am at peace.

Repeat this over and over from a relaxed place of presence at one with your breath.

I am still,

I am calm,

I am at peace.

From this peaceful place,

Begin to create a picture in your mind.

See yourself on a sidewalk in a busy city with lots of activity and people bustling about.

You're standing still on this sidewalk.

People rush around you as though they don't see you.

You see movement all around you rushing frantic and quick.

But there's a space around you,

An aura within which all is calm and peaceful.

See yourself standing there now.

Repeat,

I am still,

I am calm,

I am at peace.

As you continue to stand in this place on the busy city sidewalk and witness the rushing about of the people and the traffic around you,

You see the activity,

But you know only silence.

You feel only peace.

Repeat,

I am still,

I am calm,

I am at peace.

From within your aura of calm,

You see your heart beginning to glow,

Sending love out in all directions.

As it grows,

A gentle,

Warm light begins to emanate outward from your heart.

Watch this light grow and expand until your aura of calm and peace on the busy sidewalk is encapsulated by this lovely glowing radiance.

Just be now.

See yourself among the busyness,

Yet in the center of that calm place with the warm light washing over you,

Touching all of those who pass by you.

Repeat,

I am still,

I am calm,

I am at peace.

Breathe now and be here for a few minutes in your aura of stillness,

Peace,

And love.

Bring your attention back into your body now,

Just wiggling your toes a tiny bit.

Take a few deep and intentional breaths.

Repeat again,

I am still,

I am calm,

I am at peace.

I am still,

I am calm,

I am at peace.

Open your eyes now.

As you go about your day,

Do so from this calm and centered place of stillness.

Be grateful for our time together today and wish you a day filled with peace and love.

One of my favorite meditations. I am a busy mother of two small children and also suffer from anxiety. This meditation has helped me gather myself and be able to carry on as normal. I have noticed doing this is improving my social anxiety. I am more comfortable in crowds of people. Thank you !
