Welcome my friend,
My name is Chris and this practice will help you release tension stored in the body.
When emotions aren't expressed,
The body holds them as tightness.
With simple breathing we can loosen that hold and let it move.
So soften your shoulders,
Relax your jaw,
Take a slow inhale through the nose and an easy exhale through the mouth.
Nice,
Now let's begin.
We're going to start with a two-part breath.
You'll take one inhale through the mouth down to the bottom of the belly,
Another into the chest and then exhale through the mouth like this.
In,
In,
Out,
Belly,
Chest,
Out,
In,
In,
Out,
Belly,
Chest,
Out,
Belly,
Chest,
Out,
In,
In,
In,
Out.
Keep it going.
That's it.
It's normal to have resistance.
Focus on that one next breath.
Give yourself permission to release in any form.
Sigh,
Cry,
Whatever rises is welcome.
If your body wants to move or shake,
Just allow it.
We'll hold on empty,
But first take a deep breath in filling all the way up.
Now let it all go.
Every last drop,
Blow it out and then hold on empty.
Notice the heaviness of the body sinking into the stillness.
We'll take a recovery breath in three,
Two,
One,
Big breath in,
Filling all the way up.
Let it all go.
For round two,
We're going to shift into a pulsing breath,
Three quick inhales through the mouth,
Then a full exhale through the mouth.
Here we go,
Like this.
In,
In,
In.
That's it.
Keep it going.
Keeping it.
Pulsing breath to loosen whatever you've been holding inside is wrong and you don't have to understand it.
Just let it move through you.
We'll hold at the top of the breath this time.
So take a big breath in,
Filling all the way up and then hold.
Let your whole body be suspended in this moment.
Letting it all out and through.
Nice.
For our final round,
We'll go into a soft sighing breath,
Inhaling through your nose for four counts and then exhaling through the mouth for four counts.
Nice and easy.
Just like this.
In.
Feel your body settling into the space you've opened.
Feel how much lighter you are,
How much tension has loosened.
Your body knows how to let go and you trusted it.
Stay connected to this softness as you return to your day.
You did beautiful work,
My friend.
Thank you for breathing with me and until next time,
Sending you love.
