Good evening my friend,
My name is Chris and tonight I'll guide you through a gentle breathing practice to help quiet your mind and ease your body towards sleep.
This is your moment to let the noise of the day dissolve,
To release the pressure to think or solve anything.
There's nothing to get right now,
Just soften and breathe.
Let your shoulders settle,
Relax your jaw,
Let your eyes grow heavy and if your mind feels busy that's okay,
It will all slow as your breath slows.
Now take a deep inhale through your nose and a long easy exhale through your mouth.
You are safe,
Supported and free to rest now.
Let's begin.
We'll start by inhaling gently through your nose for four and exhaling softly through your nose for six.
Keep the breath smooth and unforced as we settle your body into rest.
Here we go.
Settle into this calm rhythm.
Now we'll stay with the same rhythm inhaling through the nose for four but this time exhale through the mouth for six with a soft sigh.
Let the body release a little more with each out breath like this.
In.
Everything on the exhale.
In.
For this final round,
Keep the same four in six out count but make the breath as soft and quiet as you can.
Breathe like you're drifting towards sleep,
Slow and effortless.
In.
Return to whatever rhythm it wants.
Just resting.
Feel your body heavy and supported beneath you.
Your mind soft,
Your heart quiet.
Allow yourself to drift between waking and dreaming.
That gentle space where sleep begins to take over.
Stay just as you are,
Letting sleep come naturally.
Soften,
Settle,
Let yourself fall into the peaceful night.
Thank you for breathing with me and sleep deeply my good friend.
Good night.
