Good evening my friend,
This is Chris and tonight I'll guide you through a gentle breathwork journey to help you unwind and settle your energy before rest.
We'll use the breath to ease the mind,
Relax the body,
And prepare you for peaceful sleep.
This practice is best done lying down somewhere cozy where you can truly let go and when you're ready close your eyes and if at any moment you need to reconnect you can open them and I'll be right here breathing with you.
Now give yourself permission to release the day,
To release the past and let go of tomorrow's plans as well.
All of that can wait,
For now there's nowhere to be,
Nothing to fix.
Let's take two deep clearing breaths,
Taking a big inhale through the nose.
Now hold at the top and squeeze every muscle in the body,
Arms,
Legs,
Hands,
Face,
Everything,
Scrunch it up.
Now exhale with a sigh through the mouth.
Now one more deep inhale through the nose.
Hold it at the top,
Now squeeze every muscle tighter than last time,
Arms,
Legs,
Face,
Hands,
Now let it all out.
Ah beautiful,
If you'd like set an intention now to let go of what you can't control,
To surrender into trust or simply allow your breath to carry you home to peace.
Now let's begin,
We'll start with box breathing through the nose,
Take deep breath in for four counts,
Hold for four counts,
Exhale for four counts,
Hold at the bottom for four counts like this.
In,
Hold,
Out,
Hold,
On.
That's it,
Keep it going.
Breathe.
Step out of the thinking mind and move back into feeling,
Into the body,
Into the flow of your breath.
And if you notice you're lost in thought,
Gently return back to your body,
Back to your breath.
There's nowhere you need to be and nothing you need to change,
Just breathe in and out and let each exhale wash away the weight of the day.
Breathe.
With each breath notice yourself sinking deeper into calm,
You are steady now,
You are safe within yourself.
Breathe.
Breath,
Rock you gently,
Stable and soothing,
A quiet rhythm your body has always known.
We're now going to go into our first breath hold,
Remember if you can't hold all the way to the end just take a quick catch breath and go back into the hold.
Take a deep breath in through the mouth filling all the way up and then hold at the top.
Breathe.
Rest here in the stillness,
Feel the body soften,
The mind grow quiet and let everything melt away.
Breathe.
Getting ready to release in three,
Two,
One,
Let it all out.
Nice,
For this next round we're gonna slow it down with deep inhales through the nose for eight counts and then long exhales through the nose for eight counts like this.
That's it,
Keep it going,
Slowing it down.
Breathe.
With every breath let go of what you've been holding,
Inhale ease and exhale what feels heavy.
One,
Let your breath clear the cluttered stories that no longer serve you,
Exhale them into the night.
Sense the breath moving through you like a soft current drawing all parts of you back to center,
Back into balance.
We're gonna go into our next breath hold now at the bottom of the breath on empty but first take a big breath in.
Now exhale it all through the mouth blowing all your air out every last drop till you're empty and then hold on empty.
Let yourself be held by this pause,
Resting in the quiet.
We'll take a recovery breath in three,
Two,
One,
Big breath in filling all the way up,
Hold at the top,
Let it all out.
Nice,
We're gonna go into box breathing again,
This time inhale for eight counts,
Hold for eight counts,
Exhale for eight counts,
Hold for eight counts like this.
That's it,
Keep it going.
Let every inhale soften the heart and every exhale draws you deeper into calm.
You are being carried now,
Allow yourself to melt into the quiet,
Dissolving into the vastness within you where all is always well.
As the breath grows slower,
The body follows,
Letting go into complete surrender.
Going into our final breath hold,
Take a big breath in through the mouth filling all the way up and then let it all out,
Every last drop of air,
Blow it out until you're empty completely and then hold on empty.
We'll take a recovery breath in three,
Two,
One,
Big inhale filling all the way up,
Hold at the top,
Let it all out.
Let your breath find its natural flow again,
No control,
No effort,
Just breathe.
Let the body rest in the peace that you've created.
And notice the stillness expanding through you,
Inhale welcomes you home,
Each exhale releases what's left to go.
You are safe,
You are supported,
You are loved,
Stay with this quiet for a few more moments.
May your sleep tonight be deep and nourishing.
May your body heal,
Your mind quiet,
And your heart feel light.
And remember your breath is always here,
It's your constant companion,
Your bridge back to calm,
Your anchor to the present moment.
We'll end with a few more minutes of music,
Stay as long as you like,
Resting in peace.
Good night,
My sweet friend,
And rest well.
