Today,
I want to reflect on why we meditate and why we strive for awareness.
There are many reasons we seek self-improvement.
Better health,
More wealth,
A fulfilling career.
Life is a constant balancing act,
Pursuing growth while learning to be content with the present moment.
With YouTube channels,
Instagram influencers,
And Facebook posts showcasing yoga retreats and self-care routines,
It's easy to curate our lives through a carefully filtered lens.
Social media has its benefits,
But how often do we pause and ask ourselves,
Is this truly good for me?
And when you pray,
Do not be like the hypocrites,
For they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others.
Truly I tell you,
They have received their reward in full.
Matthew 6.
5 This verse from Jesus' Sermon on the Mount reminds us of the importance of sincerity.
He warns against seeking public recognition for acts of faith,
Cautioning that the reward of external validation is fleeting.
So why do we meditate?
Is it for the likes?
Or are we truly seeking something deeper?
Breathe into the music.
When you pray,
Go into your room,
Close the door,
And pray to your Father who is unseen.
Then your Father,
Who sees what is done in secret,
Will reward you.
Matthew 6.
6 Jesus encourages a personal and humble connection with God.
Regardless of your beliefs,
Consider this.
God can be the universe.
Prayer can be meditation.
The deeper journey is within,
Personal and sincere.
In solitude,
We find our truest selves.
And in solitude,
We practice to understand ourselves,
The universe,
And our consciousness.
Thank you for joining us.
