Most of us have a time in our lives where we wish we could go back and be kinder to ourselves.

Judy Langford here and I specifically designed this visualization to help you go back in time to a younger version of ourselves to give it that love and compassion.

And we're going to finish up with visualizing that relationship we want going forward.

Coming into a seated position,

Bring your spine nice and tall.

And when you are ready,

Gently close down your eyes and take a few moments to connect to your breath.

Feeling the air as you breathe in,

Feeling the air as you breathe out.

Take a few moments to scan through your body,

Releasing any areas of tension.

Starting at your head and slowly moving down your body.

Going into your shoulders,

Your chest,

Arms,

Torso,

Hips and all the way down our legs to the tips of our toes.

As we come into a deeper state of relaxation,

I want us to go back to a place in time when we weren't showing up our best selves.

It may be a time we're not very proud of.

We may even be scared to go there,

But that's okay.

That is normal.

And know by having the courage to go to this fearful time,

We can step into greater being.

I want you to see yourself in this experience from a bird's eye view,

Bringing in the whole experience.

Where are you?

Are you with anyone?

If so,

Who?

How are you showing up?

What is your body language and tone of voice?

What are the thoughts you were telling yourself during this time?

And how are you feeling during this experience?

What are the emotions that arise?

As you are looking from above,

See a bright light coming from you,

Traveling down to your past self.

Through this bright light,

Send down love,

Compassion,

And any kind words to your past self.

Know that in that moment,

You were trying the best that you could.

And you need to send and pour down that love to your past self.

As you are looking down from above,

Start to come closer and closer to your past self.

Closer and closer until you are now by their side.

You embrace your past self in a big hug as you continue to pour love,

Compassion,

And kindness into them.

Take a few moments to take it all in.

Lean into this feeling.

Let your past self know how proud you are of them and everything they have accomplished.

Take a few more moments,

And when you are ready,

You can say goodbye to your past self.

Let's now go into the future.

Realize how you want to show and communicate with yourself this upcoming year.

Envision yourself,

Showing that kindness,

Compassion,

And true love for yourself and everything that you are.

What are the things you want to tell yourself?

How is it that you want to feel?

And most importantly,

In the tough times,

How are you going to show up and communicate,

Continue to show that kindness,

Compassion,

And love for yourself?

Complete your last time through your visualization and come back to focusing on your breath.

Feeling the air as you breathe in,

Feeling the air as you breathe out.

Taking your time,

And when you're ready,

I want you to open your eyes and come on back to the space around you.
