Lesson 3 - Search For Meaning Over Money
by Kiné Corder
In this lesson we discuss what I call the Money Cycle and how your Money Mentality Type (your money personality) is a direct reflection of how you navigate the Money Cycle. Get deeper insight into your money personality and shift the way you see yourself with money. The goal of this work together is to get comfortable asking for money, receiving money, and ultimately having money. You most do this before you can attract wealth into your life. After listening to this talk, move to Meditation 3 and feel free to repeat the other lessons and mediations before this one until you have become familiar with them. Let's alleviate human suffering associated with money.

Welcome,
Welcome,
Welcome to this live man's search for meaning over money.
And just to give you a little recap,
We call it men's search for meaning over money because often this is this is dedicated to my men because there are a lot of programs out there for women and not a lot of programs for men.
But my men are often striving,
Striving,
Striving,
Striving for more,
More,
More.
They have sometimes a lack mentality and all they can think about is the money for a very long time.
And then maybe they get to a certain age and they say,
Wait,
Hold up.
I want more than money.
And that could have happened to you.
And that could be happening to you right now.
The great thing is you don't have to stay there.
You can keep moving.
You can go forward.
You can move to a new version of success.
One that has meaning with the money.
How does that sound?
Does that sound good or good?
Yes,
Because many of the people who follow me,
They want meaning.
They want money.
They want health.
Can you put in the chat some of the things you want?
Maybe you want,
Let's say health.
I'm going to put that in the chat.
Let's say maybe you want with your wealth,
Adventure.
Of course,
You know,
That's one of my favorites.
Adventure.
Maybe you want,
Maybe you want a little love.
I know they say money can't buy love.
Money can't buy happiness.
But what I will tell you,
And I have worked with some very wealthy people.
No,
Not all of them are happy.
But once you determine what makes you happy,
Having money is like gravy or icing or sprinkles or like,
Whatever it is you like on the top of your dessert or your meal.
That's what having money is.
Can you imagine being happy?
If you've been happy before,
Just imagine that feeling right now.
Just go.
Maybe it was a birthday party.
Maybe it was your wedding.
Maybe it was the birth of your child.
Just so happy.
Just remember the happiness.
Remember the happiness you felt?
Maybe it was on a vacation.
Now add a bunch of money to that happiness.
Even better,
Right?
That's what I'm saying.
So you're going to have your happiness.
You're going to have your meaning and you're going to have your money.
And I'm about to first tell you what I call the money mentality types.
What we're going to do is break down the different types of personalities around money.
And this is one of my favorite conversations to have because it usually brings so much insight into the relationship that you've had with money in the past.
So let's get started because I have a lot to share with you.
And you can take notes or you can just listen because I am recording this and I am going to post this live.
And after we do this,
This is going to take about 20-30 minutes because it's a lot of information.
After we do this,
Then we're going to meditate together and we're going to kind of release some of those preconceived notions and some of those bad habits that go along with your particular money personality.
So I'm going to give them to you first.
There's seven.
It's the spender,
The saver,
The blamer,
The enthusiast,
The hero,
The artist.
And then there's the president.
And the president,
I'll start there.
The president knows that money is just logical.
Money is just a conversation.
Money comes easily and frequently.
The president knows that it's easy to make sound money decisions.
They're all based on facts and factors,
Not on emotions,
Not on fleeting pleasures.
It's facts and that's all.
That's what the president knows that the other ones don't yet.
And you can easily become a president by clearing some of those maladaptive habits that go along with your money personality.
So the president has management over their emotions and that's what makes them so powerful.
They can come up,
They can just focus on the facts.
They can come up with the best reasons.
They can resolve the emotions.
It's not that they don't have the emotions.
They have them.
They just settle them very quickly.
So they are always expanding,
Always expanding to their next level.
And the president knows that what they have right now,
They are grateful for and there's more to come.
So that's the president.
But let's go back to the top and let's start with the spender and the other mentalities that may not have it all together yet.
The spender believes money is meant to be spent.
That's it.
That's all.
They also wish someone else would take care of the money details.
They would like to give it away.
Now,
A spender is good at enjoying money.
Oh,
Let me take a step back.
I'm probably missing one thing that I want to tell you and that is the money cycle.
You need to be clear on what the money cycle is and that is earn,
Grow,
Protect,
Gift,
And enjoy your money.
How you navigate this money cycle is going to determine your lifestyle and you want to navigate it in that order.
Earn,
Grow,
Protect,
Gift,
And enjoy your money.
Oh,
I see more friends coming on.
I'm so happy to see you.
And so let's get back to the spender.
So I said the spender believes money is to be spent money.
They just wish somebody else would handle it.
But they're good at enjoying money.
Remember the money cycle?
Earn,
Grow,
Protect,
Gift,
And enjoy.
But what did they not do?
They probably didn't earn as much as they probably could.
Maybe they asked somebody else to earn it,
Which that's not necessarily a problem.
That's just a fact.
So earn,
Grow.
They didn't grow it.
They didn't protect it.
They did not gift it.
And sometimes a spender is good at gifting too,
But they're mostly good at enjoying.
And they enjoy gifting.
So those two kind of go together.
Most common money fear that you will have as a spender.
Fear is the most common money emotion type.
So we're going to talk next,
Starting in August,
About the money emotions.
These categories break down fear,
Lack,
Lust,
Lonely.
Those are the four categories I told you.
This is a lot of information.
Take notes.
Good thing this is being recorded.
You can come back and listen over and over and over again.
But the money emotions that spenders experience most are fear-based emotions.
Now,
We're going to clear later,
So just hold on to that information.
If you are a spender,
If this sounds like you,
Then,
And I'm going to tell you in the,
Not this week,
But when we start to do our fear-based emotions,
I'm going to tell you how you can take the money mentality quiz.
The saver.
The saver is all they believe is that you're supposed to save money.
That's it.
That's all.
That is all they want to do.
They also wish everyone was responsible.
They just wish everyone was responsible for themselves and that they did a good job holding on to money and saving money.
But they're willing to take care of loved ones that follow their money rules.
That's what they agree to.
They are good at protecting money.
Not so good at earning it.
They don't have to be.
They'll still,
Even if they don't earn a big living,
They'll still save money.
Even if they don't grow it a lot,
They'll still have it.
Even if it's just like eking out a little bit of return and may not get big returns and they don't care about that.
They're not that great at gifting because they really just want to save.
And that's their gift to you is that they're saving their money for the future.
And so they're not good at enjoying money either.
So that's your saver.
The blamer is it believes that others should give them money.
Others should take care of them.
They also believe that money will never end.
It's just,
It's always there.
They don't have to do anything to get it.
It just always comes.
So that's not totally bad,
Except they usually take more than their fair share.
And their most common,
Oh,
I forgot to tell you that the saver's most common money emotion,
They're usually in the lack-based emotions.
So the blamer is usually in the lust-based emotions.
That's what the blamer is just lusting after money.
So we're going to get down to what we need to clear for the blamers.
There are not a lot of blamers that join these kinds of workshops and groups and stuff like that because they don't think they need it.
But just in case there are ones here that's trying to reform,
We'll make sure we're clear for you.
So they are usually good at enjoying money.
They are.
But not usually their own,
Usually other people's money.
And then also good at asking for money,
Which is not part of the money cycle.
But it is important because,
You know,
We've been working on getting comfortable asking for money,
Receiving money,
And ultimately having money.
Now,
Blamers are not necessarily good at having it,
But they are good at asking for it.
And then they typically go to spending it in the way to enjoy it.
But they usually take more than their fair share.
So they don't have great karma when it comes to money.
Enthusiasts,
Let me tell you,
You want to be around an enthusiast because an enthusiast loves to take care of people's wants.
They believe that money is always coming in.
It's to be enjoyed.
It's behind the next big opportunity.
And usually they believe that the opportunity will get bigger and bigger and bigger.
They are very much optimists and also believe that you have to take big risks in order to be wealthy,
Which is not necessarily true.
We already told you the saver can be wealthy,
But they will just save their little small pennies,
Everything they have,
Hold on to it all by becoming wealthy and never enjoy life at all.
Not even in retirement because they're still afraid.
They still feel lack.
So enthusiasts are good at earning usually,
But not good at protecting because they usually are very risky.
They are good at gifting.
In fact,
They are the best at gifting because they love to take care of people's wants.
They are the type of person who is going to buy the bar,
You know,
Make sure to take up the tab so they enjoy it.
But they aren't good at growing and protecting their money.
Most common emotion type for enthusiasts is the lack emotion and the lust emotion.
Both of those are going to be running high in an enthusiast.
You won't know that though because they're so good at enjoying you,
You'll never see that.
Anyway,
The next one is the hero.
Now I'll tell you,
That was my money mentality type.
And just so you know,
My father was an enthusiast and my mother was an artist,
Which is the next one we're going to talk about.
So hero,
Me,
Who I used to be before I started doing this work,
Believes that money is precious but should also be used to help others.
And many of you might be heroes who probably love helping others.
Also believes that enjoying money comes last.
You need to do earn,
Grow,
Protect,
Gift,
And enjoy,
Which makes it great because the hero can navigate the money system well.
However,
They sometimes never really get to the enjoyment part.
And if they do,
They feel a little remorse and guilt for that,
Which falls under the lust-based emotions.
But the hero is more likely to feel the lonely-based emotions.
But the guilt can toggle between lust-based emotions and lonely-based emotions.
And that's what the hero feels quite often.
So heroes are good at earning,
Growing,
And protecting.
Now,
They are good at gifting,
But a little too good because sometimes they overgive,
Which they'll give from their savings account,
Which is not what that savings account was for.
They should have a gifting account.
They'll deplete their gifting account,
And they'll move over to their own savings account that's for their own emergency,
But they'll take care of somebody else's emergency with it.
Maybe this sounds familiar.
You've probably all done something like this yourself,
Huh?
Yeah.
So gifting becomes sort of their driver to lose their wealth.
But they do enjoy money,
But only a little bit,
You know,
In limitation.
So that's your hero.
Now,
Here's the artist.
And I find here on Inside Timer,
There are quite a few artists.
And when I say artist,
It doesn't mean that you paint or you draw or dance or anything artistic,
So to speak.
It just means your brain processes money similarly to the way that the artist does.
And the artist is very,
Like,
About creative.
You can be creative when it comes to money.
You don't necessarily have to have a lot of it to get creative with it.
But an artist believes that money should be easy.
And if it has to be talked about,
Then forget about it.
They're not going to talk about money.
The artist,
They say,
Well,
We can talk about that later.
Let's not talk about the money.
And because of that,
They may not earn as much as they could because they don't want to have money conversations.
They'll just let it go.
And also,
They believe that money problems will just go away.
Like,
If I ignore them,
They'll just go away.
They'll run.
They'll hate being ignored,
And then they'll leave.
No,
That's not what happens with money problems.
They usually get bigger,
Which an artist later finds out.
But no matter how many times they've done it,
They will do it again.
So they are good at gifting.
They are good at enjoying.
Like I said,
They are creative when it comes to money,
Especially when it comes to earning money.
However,
They might not earn as much because they don't want to have money conversations.
And then earning,
Earn,
Grow.
Growing,
Not so much because they don't pay that much attention to it.
Protecting,
Not at all because of the whole,
Like,
Put your head,
Turn your head,
Hopefully it goes away kind of thing.
Like,
Put your head under the cover,
Maybe the monster will go away.
They don't protect their money.
It easily goes away.
So we'll clear all of that for you if you're an artist.
So that's all of them.
That's the president,
The spender,
The saver,
The blamer,
The enthusiast,
The hero,
And the artist.
We even talked about the money cycle.
Earn,
Grow,
Protect,
Gift,
And enjoy your money.
And we did all of that in like 15 minutes.
I just gave you,
Oh,
And I forgot,
I'll recap.
We also talked about the money emotions.
And those,
Their categories,
Their fear-based emotions,
Their lack-based emotions,
Their lust-based emotions,
And their lonely-based emotions.
Now,
In the coming weeks,
Starting August 7th,
I am going to break down all of them.
So August,
We'll be talking about fear-based emotions.
September,
We'll be talking about lust-based emotions.
Lack,
I'm sorry,
Lack-based emotions.
And then October,
Lust.
And November,
Lonely-based emotions.
So we have a lot of time together.
I need you to come back over and over and over again to get all of this information.
And eventually,
It'll all live on Insight Timer,
And you can listen to it all as one.
Almost like a free course here on Insight Timer,
A free money course.
But I'll also have an in-person retreat.
So I cannot wait.
Like,
I am so anxious and excited.
Oh,
I said I was going to stop saying excited.
Because here in France,
Excited means something else.
I don't know if I told you that.
So I don't want that to happen.
I don't want people to think that.
I want you to know that I am thrilled.
I am so delighted that we're going to have all this time together,
But also that we're going to be doing an in-person retreat together.
So I'll tell you all about that.
You can look for that coming soon.
Let's go into our meditation.
How does that sound?
How does that sound?
