You you Good morning Have you ever considered?

How do I greet the morning?

How do I greet the rising sun?

That dispels the darkness and heralds a new lighted day the Morning time is a very special time to do one's practice Set the foundation for one's breath mind and body So that our days can be rich Full of an experience of a lived life in the present moment In India Greeting the morning Sun is a very important and meaningful way to start the day We can bring in these very special and ancient practices Into our daily lives even if we live in a very modern fast-paced world So go ahead and arrange your seat so that you are facing the eastern direction If you can sit by a window where the Sun is pouring in Wonderful if you can sit outside facing the Sun even better Position yourself in accordance with nature So that the greeting of the Sun is Directly related to its rise in front of your very own body Your very own heart your very own eyes You can sit in a chair or on the ground Just feeling your breath and heart beat together Breathing in and breathing out Knowing that you are alive Knowing that you are alive Knowing that you are here to see another rising Sun Holding the hands in Anjali Mudra or a prayer position at the heart And having the eyes half open letting the upper eyelids be heavy So that you can have an expression of both inner and outer gaze If the Sun is in front of you Just gazing towards its light Or any light that is streaming in and touching your body Thank you Sun,

Thank you for your illumination For your wisdom And for the life-giving essence you grant without discrimination And for the life-giving essence you grant without discrimination Towards all beings on this planet May I too have those qualities share those qualities Gently let the eyes close Gently let the eyes close Feel your breath in your entire torso Feeling the essence of the Sun's golden light In the center of the heart Streaming its rays in all directions throughout the body Whatever was sleepy is waking up Whatever was hidden being brought to light Let your breath relax deeper and deeper into the base of the body As you feel your own stability And as you feel your own stability As you feel your own stability coil to your breath slowly begin Slowly begin to bring your mind into the heart center,

Stabilizing your mind there,

Viewing the inner sun at the heart center.

Inner and outer interconnected,

No separation between the sun that rises in front of you and the sun that rises in illumination in your heart.

This is how we greet the morning with purpose,

With surrender,

With gratitude for another day of a life lived in this body.

When you're ready,

Beginning to deepen your breath again,

This deep breath waking up the body,

Bringing fresh prana or energy life force.

May I direct my life force in a purposeful manner today.

May I preserve and protect my energy.

May I use it for the benefit of all.

When you're ready,

You can slowly bring your hands to your face and massage the face,

The eyes.

Simply opening the eyes again to witness this outer rising light of the sun.

Thank you for joining me in today's practice,

Greeting the sun,

Greeting yourself,

Greeting the energy that sustains all life on this planet.

Have a wonderful day.

This was wonderful! Such a gorgeous way to wake up and be present. This is one of my favorite meditations. The only thing I would change is lowering the volume of the background music so we can hear your voice a little easier. Thanks so much!

Loved your message. I wish the flute volume was lower than your voice volume.

Really enjoyed it! Music was a bit louder than voice so I strained a bit to hear but I wasn’t wearing a headset either. Thank you for this πŸ™πŸ»

This was one of my favorite morning. It was most lovely with a combination of the flute, your warm voice, and of course, the birds chirping in the background. Namaste.

A soothing, ultimately energizing practice. The music, birdsong and guidance were balanced and a perfect start to the morning. It brought sunshine, even to the darker morning of a northern place in autumn. Thank you!
