I'm Kelly Mackin.
When you meditate in the morning,
You're taking the time to set your intention for how you want to live your day.
This morning meditation will set you up to live the possibility of this fresh new day to the fullest.
And in a comfortable,
Relaxed position,
Take a deep inhale through the nose,
And on the exhale gently close your eyes.
I want you to imagine that you're sitting high up on the top of a mountain.
Now the sun has not yet risen,
So let's just settle into the darkness,
Into the stillness,
Letting our breath lead the way.
Take a slow,
Deep breath in of that crisp morning air,
And a big exhale out the mouth,
Release any stale air from your body.
Again,
Take a slow,
Deep breath in of that cool morning air,
And a big exhale,
Let it go.
Return to the natural rise and fall of your breath.
Don't try and change it or manipulate it.
Just watch it as it flows in and flows out.
Feel your body begin to soften and relax.
Let the past and the future just melt away.
If the past is in your present,
You'll lose the full possibility of today.
Don't worry about the future.
You can best fulfill your intentions for your future by living this day to the fullest,
Being present in each moment.
The morning brings the promise of a fresh new day,
A new beginning,
A clean slate,
And a clear mind.
It's a chance to get you one step closer to your deepest desires,
To let go of yesterday,
And create new experiences to change and grow.
Each day,
We decide how we want to show up in the world.
For ourselves,
For our loved ones,
For those we interact with in our day,
Ask yourself,
How do you want to show up in the world today?
How do you want to show up in the world today?
What good can you put into the world today?
How would the best version of you live this day?
Right now,
Sitting on this mountain in the darkness,
Let the opportunity to live this day exactly how you want to settle into your heart as you witness the inhale and exhale of your breath.
As the sun comes up over the horizon,
You can feel the warmth on your face,
Feeling the peace and gratitude wash over you with the beauty of this day you've been gifted.
Focus your attention on the image of the sun rising.
Get a very clear picture of the details in your mind's eye,
The canvas of the colors in the sky,
The exact position of the sun and the clouds.
Allow the image to deepen and crystallize in your mind.
I'm going to leave you for a few moments in silence,
Just you and the sunrise.
When your mind starts to wander,
Just come back to this image and refocus,
Letting the beautiful sunrise fill your mind.
Each new day brings possibility,
The opportunity to begin again,
To show up in the world how we want to.
One of the gifts of meditation is that we can begin again anytime.
Every breath can be a new beginning,
A reset.
There's no limit on how many fresh beginnings you may start.
You can always begin again,
One breath at a time.
This is your day.
You choose how you want to live it.
If you lose sight of your intention for today,
At any point in your day,
Just come back to your breath and begin again.
Start to slowly bring some movement back into your body.
Take a deep inhale and on the exhale,
Gently open your eyes.
