Our inner critic can be quite powerful, especially when we need to feel confident in ourselves. However, we can learn to overcome this negative voice and become stronger. This meditation encourages us to let go of old beliefs and focus on the present moment. We do not need our ego to validate our worth, as all the tools to build our confidence are already within us. Take a leap of faith and unlock your true power.

Find yourself a comfortable position,

Either lying down or sitting.

Find a position where you are comfortable but you are able to stay focused.

I invite you to connect with your body at this stage and bring a wave of relaxation all the way from your head through to your toes.

Softening your eyes,

Shoulders,

Belly and moving all the way down to your feet.

Expanding this wave of relaxation as you shift your focus to your breathing and feeling the wave of relaxation expanding,

Keeping it slow but steady.

You are calm,

You are safe,

You are present.

No one has the power to make you feel insecure or make you lack any form of confidence.

Confidence is a feeling or learned behaviour deeply rooted within us.

It is based on past experiences or events which happened during our lives in various situations whether at school,

Work,

Family or social settings.

It is something that builds up over time and as a result our brain is conditioned to think that we are not good enough.

Placing emphasis on the learnt behavioural responses instead of our positive experiences and in turn this strengthens our inner critic.

During this meditation we will work deeply with our subconscious mind to plant seeds of unlearning of our inner critic.

Through regular practice we will become more self-conscious,

Self-assured and self-confident and will no longer experience the slightest nervousness discomfort or uneasiness.

There is an assortment of variables which are always going to be a factor however through being intentional with curiosity will help us with the assumptions we're having.

I'd like to invite you to take a moment to observe how you are doing right now.

No judgements and see what's coming up for you.

Sit with us.

Shift your focus to your breath.

What do you notice?

Just stay with your breath for a moment.

Connecting to your body.

What do you notice happening in your body?

What physical sensations are manifesting for you?

And remember to keep the space free from judgements.

What happened in that moment you shifted your thought to your breath?

During moments when our inner critic is so strong and it cripples us it is helpful to shift our focus from the self-conscious eye to our breath and engage in focusing on the moment without our thoughts as a distraction.

When you shift your attention away from the self-conscious eye you will remain perfectly calm and self-assured.

The self-conscious eye draws your attention to your thoughts and highlights all the things you're not good at.

This is your inner critic.

This affects our confidence and we seek external approval.

You will no longer need to seek validation in others but instead trusting your authentic self without being judgmental would be the key to unlock your confidence.

When you catch yourself overthinking,

Overanalysing,

Shift your thinking to your breath and simply observe your breath without judgment.

Through staying in the present moment and focused on what is going on around you takes you out of your head away from the critical thinking.

Your inner critic no longer serves you my darling.

You will no longer feel uncertain,

Confused or embarrassed.

You will no longer be worried that you are not good enough.

You will become so fully occupied in the present moment and less self-conscious about saying or doing the right thing.

You will feel completely relaxed,

Completely at ease,

Confident and self-assured.

And the more you do this meditation the more you will enhance your capacity and quieting your inner critic.

You are completely relaxed,

Completely at ease,

Confident and self-assured.

And only when you are ready you may open your eyes and return to the present moment.
