OK,
Friends,
Hello and welcome back.
Today we are going to be talking about stress management.
And some of the different ways in which you can manage your stress.
Some of my favorite ways and tools that have helped me to manage my stress are yoga.
I believe everybody needs some style of yoga in their life,
Whether it's a fast-paced vinyasa or ashtanga if you're very regimented and you like to know exactly what you're doing every time you walk into the studio.
That's a great place to start.
Or if you need something a little bit more relaxing,
More restorative,
Maybe you're going to go with some hatha,
Gentle yoga,
Yin,
Or possibly even one of my favorites,
Restorative yoga.
It's what we call structured adult nap time,
And we all need it.
So in addition to yoga,
Meditation is also very,
Very beneficial and you are in the right place.
You are here on Insight Timer where you have a plethora of instructors to choose from on a daily basis.
Yoga,
Meditation,
Another form that I enjoy is Reiki.
I am also a certified Reiki practitioner.
Reiki activates the body's innate ability to heal itself.
So it's very calming and soothing and very relaxing.
And this can be done with a person with you,
Right next to you,
Putting hands on you or hovering hands,
Or hire me for some distance Reiki.
Another thing you can do is.
.
.
EFT,
Emotional freedom technique.
This is a great way to manage stress.
I've written lots of EFTs,
And they are on here on meditation for you here on Insight Timer.
So please feel free to peruse any of those.
So you have yoga,
Meditation,
Reiki.
EFT there's lots of different ways to manage stress going for a walk outside,
Petting an animal if you have a cat or a dog,
Spending time with loved ones,
Or even journaling.
That is one of my go-tos that I've been using since I was very young.
Lots of different ways to handle stress.
But the most important thing is to stay on top of it and be consistent.
Maybe it's something that you do on a daily or a weekly basis.
Whatever it is that you choose to do,
Be consistent and do it often so it gets rooted into your routine.
If it's not something you do all the time and you do it occasionally,
It's never going to stick.
So please,
Whatever practices you are starting,
Start slow,
But be consistent.
Maybe you do it once a week,
And then it goes to twice a week or three times a week,
Whatever it is.
Stay consistent,
And don't be afraid to try new things.
There are so many different things that I have tried over the years that say,
You know,
This works for me,
This doesn't.
If something works,
Use it.
And then if something is better,
Try that out.
It's never a bad thing to have multiple tools in your toolkit for stress management.
And you never know who you may help with that too.
So be sure to share your tools with other people as well.
All right,
Those are my tips for stress management.
Last one coming up will be about movement and exercise.
Alright friends,
Stay well and I'll talk to you soon.
Bye.
