Affirmation is not wishful thinking. It's tuning in to truth that is deeper than what we see and hear and feel on the surface. Our highest potential wants to be known but it will not arrive uninvited. Affirmation is one of the most powerful tools we have to open the door to the beautiful perfection, the higher reality that is always available. It is not about convincing ourselves of something that appears untrue, but rather putting words and feeling into the higher truths that are hidden by the limited way we engage with our daily reality. This brief affirmation practice invites you to send a message of higher truth throughout your awareness of a hopeful and loving faith. To open yourself to the profound comfort and joy of this faith that asks nothing of you, but to experience it. Focus and raise your energy as you follow this practice, and allow the truth to settle into your being. Music courtesy Howie Silinski - Silinski Digital Art

Taking your right hand and placing it on your belly,

Just a little bit above your navel,

And letting your next inhale draw into your belly so that your hand rises.

And as you exhale,

You'll feel your hand fall.

Letting the breath come naturally,

But drawing it into the belly.

Feeling your hand rise on the inhale and fall on the exhale.

The moment or two of belly breathing here,

Settling in.

If you think you've got your breath in your belly,

You can take your hand away.

Just let the breath flow in and out gently in the belly.

As we settle into this intention for this meditation,

Something I've been focused on over the past few weeks has been the three virtues of faith,

Hope,

And love.

Now I was doing some reading about these and it's a faith,

It's not something that asks,

Asks us to believe anything.

It's a faith that's experienced.

It's a relational faith.

And the hope,

It's an experienced hope,

Something that we know.

And the love is unconditional.

It's universal.

I was reading more,

This was in a book by Richard Rohr about the,

As these three virtues occur together,

That the faith is hopeful and loving and the hope is loving and faithful.

And the love is faithful and hopeful.

How these three dance together.

So we'll do a brief affirmation practice around faith and hope and love.

Take an intentional breath in and out through the nose and let the breath go.

Allow it to flow naturally in and out through the nose.

Check in with your posture.

See that you're sitting with a nice upright spine.

Maybe draw the shoulder blades together gently.

You're sitting in a chair,

See that your feet are flat on the floor.

You can place your hands on the thighs at the juncture of thighs and abdomen a little bit further forward if that's more comfortable for you.

Palms up,

Allow the shoulders to be relaxed.

Check to see if there's any tension in your upper back or shoulders that wants to be released.

Relax your face,

Relax your jaw.

Allow your tongue to fall away from the roof of your mouth.

Eyes are closed gently,

Soft eyelids.

Eyes soft behind the eyelids.

Allow yourself to begin to tune in to the words of this affirmative statement.

Today,

I welcome into my heart,

Into my awareness and into my life,

Faith,

Hope,

And love.

I know that these three virtues are my true nature.

So I embrace this faith,

I embrace this hope,

I embrace this love,

I embrace this love.

Once you begin to memorize the statement,

You're welcome to say it out loud to yourself.

Tune in to the feeling behind the words.

Today,

I welcome into my heart,

Into my awareness and into my life,

Faith,

Hope,

And love.

I know that these three virtues are my true nature.

So I embrace this faith,

I embrace this hope,

I embrace this love,

I embrace this love.

Today,

I welcome into my heart,

Into my awareness and into my life,

Faith,

Hope,

And love.

I know that these three virtues are my true nature.

So I embrace this faith,

I embrace this hope,

I embrace this love,

I embrace this love.

Today,

I welcome into my heart,

Into my awareness and into my life,

Faith,

Hope,

And love.

I know that these three virtues are my true nature.

So I embrace this faith,

I embrace this hope,

I embrace this love,

I embrace this love.

If you're saying it out loud,

Just in a whisper,

Sending the affirmation deep into the subconscious,

Today,

I welcome into my heart,

Into my awareness and into my life,

Faith,

Hope,

And love.

I know that these three virtues are my true nature.

So I embrace this faith,

I embrace this hope,

I embrace this love,

I embrace this love.

If you're saying out loud,

Just in your mind now,

Following along,

Today,

I welcome into my heart,

Into my awareness and into my life,

Faith,

Hope,

And love.

I know that these three virtues are my true nature.

So I embrace this faith,

I embrace this hope,

I embrace this love,

I embrace this love.

One more time with intention and focus.

Today,

I welcome into my heart,

Into my awareness and into my life,

Faith,

Hope,

And love.

I know that these three virtues are my true nature.

So I embrace this faith,

I embrace this hope,

I embrace this love,

I embrace this love.

Letting the words of the affirmation go now,

But staying with the feeling behind the words,

Just a few moments,

Letting them settle in.

Now take a normal breath in and out,

Prepare to come back to the space where you are.

And when you're ready,

You can flutter open your eyelids or stay like this for as long as you like.
