Hello there.
Today we're going to do a healing meditation from the Kundalini Yoga tradition.
The mantra is Ramadasa.
Saw say so hung.
Now this mantra specifically calms the nervous system and it helps us to cultivate our witness,
Our neutral mind.
Part of how it does this.
Is the sound AH.
Resonates in the heart chakra.
Our personal divinity right here.
That ah,
You can actually hear it when you allow your voice to be like a tuning fork resonating through all the cells of your body.
The sounds,
Rah-mah.
Ra.
Is the energy of the sun.
Ma is the energy of the moon.
So we're bringing in these two.
Dancing polar opposites,
The masculine,
The feminine,
The sun and the moon.
Rama.
And then we have DA-SA.
Da is the energy of the earth,
The physical,
The manifest.
Sa is infinite spirit,
Infinite potential.
So da-sa helps us to balance.
The physical and the spiritual,
The earth and the heavens.
So Ramadasa.
This brings in the sun,
The moon,
The earth,
The spirit.
And so that begins to allow us to feel the center of all these polarities.
The second part.
Sah say.
So Sa was this infinite.
Energy,
Divinity,
And say makes it personal.
So this is now the infinite potential of all.
Sassy.
So hung.
And this is like hung,
Like I hung up my coat.
So hung is I am that,
I am thou.
So Rama,
Son in the earth.
Dasa,
Earth and the Heavens.
Sa say,
My personal divinity,
And so hung.
I am that,
I am thou.
So how do we do this meditation?
We sit nice and tall,
Comfortably.
If sitting on the floor is comfortably cross-legged,
Wonderful.
Maybe on the heels is better.
Maybe on a chair is better.
The key is the sound current,
Not the posture you're sitting in.
So make sure you're comfortable.
The elbows are resting at the side.
The forearms are about 45 degrees.
The palms are flat to the ceiling.
It's very important to hold this as an active mudra.
Because what happens when we start to chant and we start to sort of float away in the sound?
Our fingers start to curl and the mudra releases.
This is an active mudra that is reprogramming our nervous system.
So you want to really be conscious of this mudra.
If you ever find this releasing,
Just open it up and flatten it out again.
Now the mantra is chanted on a single breath.
So you take a big breath in.
You chant Rama,
Dasa,
Sasa,
Sohankara.
But on Soheung,
You actually bring the navel in all the way.
Which makes a lot of sense because you've just taken a deep breath,
Your belly has expanded,
And as you're chanting,
The belly's going in and in and in,
And on that final Sohung,
You bring the belly button all the way into the spine.
And then you prepare for another big breath.
When we're meditating,
You want to be nice and tall.
You want your chin tucked in slightly so that your neck is in line with the spine.
And this also may happen,
You'll find your chin coming up.
So just always think about this chin going down a little bit.
Our eyes are closed,
Or you can have them nine tenths closed,
Gazing at the tip of the nose,
If you'd like.
So this mantra can be chanted.
In a monotone or in many of the tunes that you will hear.
Because many,
Many musicians have.
Done renditions of this beautiful healing mantra.
I am so honored a beautiful yogi named Amanbir Singh has given us permission to use his version of this song.
I love this version so much.
I find it extremely meditative,
Extremely healing.
And the breath pattern is amazing.
Because you take a deep breath in.
And as you chant the mantra.
And then you bring that navel in on so hung.
You keep bringing that navel in until you are completely empty.
Then you take another deep breath in.
And it is in perfect time to chant the mantra again.
But really focus on emptying the breath all the way.
Before you inhale.
And your timing will be great.
Let's sit nice and tall.
Relax the shoulders,
Crown of the head to the heavens.
Elbows at our side,
Arms at 45 degrees.
Palms facing up.
Chin tucked in.
Eyes closed or focused at the tip of your nose.
Breathing deep.
Let's take a deep breath in,
Ready?
Good night.
Really chant from your navel.
Your body is a healing tuning fork.
Adjust your posture,
Make sure you're nice and tall.
Ram,
Ma,
Da,
Sa God.
Namaskar.
Bye.
Sama Sama Sama Rawr!
Uh.
.
.
Dhamma Satsang Dhamma Satsang Thank you.
Bye.
Dhamma,
Dhamma,
Dhamma,
Dhamma Grub.
Satsang with Mooji Let's take a deep breath in.
Inhale,
Bring our hands to our lap,
Palms facing up on top of each other.
You can touch the thumbs together.
Let's just breathe naturally.
Tune in to your heart center.
Feel this love flowing through all the cells of your body.
Let's bring our hands into prayer pose in front of the heart center.
Thank you so much for sharing this practice with me.
Sat Naam.
