In this guided meditation you are going to begin to learn how to connect more deeply with your soul by working with moving your perspective of who you are from the vantage point of I am a human with a soul to I am a soul with a human.

In this practice we will go on a journey to help you reorient your awareness and felt sense perception to this soul aspect of you so that you can begin to operate and exist from the truth of who you are and more easily feel the flow of your soul's guidance within you.

So let's begin.

Let's take a few deep breaths together.

A nice long slow inhale through your nose and exhale through the mouth making your exhale even longer than your inhale.

Whenever that breath is complete breathe again in through the nose and out through the mouth making your exhale longer than your inhale.

And in your own time whenever that third breath is complete breathing in again through the nose deeply and fully and exhaling from the mouth taking your time to really release every last bit of breath.

And when that breath is complete simply allowing yourself to breathe in and out through the nose and letting the body naturally choose the rhythm and pace of your breath.

Letting go of control of the breath and simply allowing the body to do what it naturally does allowing your body to breathe.

Let's begin to really ground into our physical bodies into our human selves.

Let's really acknowledge in this moment this human part of us one that we know all too well are very familiar with.

Letting this acknowledgement include our minds,

Our thoughts,

Our stories,

Our beliefs and our physical body.

We are going to start our practice here with our awareness where it most regularly lies We're in the physical body here with our human aspect.

So just becoming fully aware of how your physical body feels in this present moment.

How your human form,

Your human body feels in this moment.

Wherever you are sitting perhaps beginning by bringing all of your awareness to the soles of your feet.

If they're touching the floor getting a sense of what it feels like for your feet to connect with the floor.

If your legs are crossed perhaps connecting with the soles of the feet and any socks or footwear you might be wearing and if your feet are bare simply noticing the feeling of the air against your skin on the soles of your feet.

And then moving your awareness up into the lower part of your body where you're sitting.

Noticing all the connection points where the legs connect to either a seat you're sitting in or the floor that you're sitting on.

And again become aware of all the sensations you feel in these connection points.

Try to get a sense of what it's like for the weight of your body to press down on the seat or on the floor.

Does it feel comfortable to sit this way?

Just noticing what it feels like to sit here in this moment.

Not judging or deciding if it's good or bad.

Just simply observing your physical body and the shape and position you are sitting in.

And now bringing your awareness up to include your back where it either rests against a chair or perhaps is just suspended in space as you sit cross-legged on the floor.

If you are leaning against a chair maybe noticing how it feels for your chest and your ribs to press against the chair as you breathe in and out.

And if you're sitting either in a chair or on the floor maybe notice how your body gently moves forward and back as the breath enters and leaves the body.

Noticing any and all change in sensations through the chest,

Through the back or any of the points where your body meets a surface as the breath comes and goes.

And now begin to get a sense of how your arms are resting.

Feel your arms as they hang from your shoulders.

Notice the weight of your arms.

Notice what is touching your palms.

Are they resting on a part of your body or are they face up to the air?

Give your awareness to the palms of your hands,

This part of your body that helps you connect with the world through the sensation of touch and feeling so that your soul may know things about this world through this human form.

What do you feel in the palms of your hands?

Once again simply observing any and all sensations present in your palms and in your arms.

And bringing your awareness now to also include your head.

This place where the human part of us is so active.

The human mind and our eyes that allow us to observe the world,

To see it,

To learn about it,

To think thoughts about it.

A place where when we really feel very human,

We have most of our energy here in our head.

And no judgment on that either.

Simply an experience of being human.

And now bring your awareness to fully notice and feel the entirety of your physical body Sitting here in this present moment listening to this meditation,

Noticing this human vehicle.

This body that our soul has.

Because in truth,

You are a soul who has a human.

You are a soul who has a human.

You are a soul with a human.

Bringing your awareness now into your heart,

To the centre of your chest.

The place that it's said that our soul lives and where our soul expresses from.

And in this moment,

I want you to begin to tap into a deep sense of gratitude for this body that you have.

Simply cultivate a feeling of the deepest appreciation for this incredible human vehicle through which your soul can connect with the world.

Through which your soul can interact with other human beings.

Through which your soul can learn and grow and experience.

Let that gratitude also extend to truly appreciate the miracle that the human body is.

And how it continues to breathe for us,

Continues to have our heart beat,

Continues to always seek to create a harmonious balance so that our body may be healthy and may thrive.

To continue to give us this opportunity as a soul to be here experiencing the human life.

Deeply appreciating in this moment,

This human aspect that you have.

Really feeling in your heart a love for this part of who you are.

Really letting your heart swell with love.

Remembering in this moment that love,

Unconditional love,

Is actually your soul.

You are a soul with a human.

You are a soul who has a human.

You are a soul who has a human.

Continue to anchor into that love for this human expression you have.

For this human form.

Remembering that as you do so,

You deepen into that gratitude and appreciation.

And naturally,

In time,

Feel a true sense of love for this human part of you.

You are being and embodying and experiencing your soul.

I am a soul with a human.

I am a soul with a human.

I am a soul with a human.

Taking a few moments now to repeat that phrase in your heart.

Perhaps aloud.

And really feel how those words resonate within your physical body.

Within your own experience of who you are.

I am a soul with a human.

I am a soul with a human.

I am a soul with a human.

Truly feeling from this soul perspective,

The deepest gratitude and compassion and love for this fragile and vulnerable part of who we are as a soul with a human.

And perhaps as you experience this,

You might notice how different it feels to see and view this human part of us when we are embodying and connecting with the soul that we are.

How we might hold this human aspect of who we are in a different way.

Truly feeling a depth of love radiating from the centre of your heart towards this part of you.

I am a soul with a human.

I am a soul with a human.

I am a soul with a human.

As you sit here,

Just noticing if your human mind wants to override any of these statements,

Comment on what you are experiencing,

Just simply notice that.

Because you are that too.

But as best you can,

Repeat that phrase and feel this different orientation of I am a soul with a human.

Feel yourself as the soul.

Feel yourself as your soul.

Simply be in the joy of experiencing the fullness,

The bigness of this part of who you are.

I am a soul with a human.

I am a soul with a human.

I am a soul with a human.

Feeling that love,

Feeling that gratitude,

Feeling that compassion.

Feel your heart and radiate outward toward the human part of who you are.

As though you can shower it in love in this moment.

Shower the human part of you that sometimes feels so unloved.

That can be so hard on itself.

Let your soul shower your human part with its true and unconditional love.

I am a soul with a human.

I am a soul with a human.

I am a soul with a human.

Before we end our practice today,

You may wish to ask a single question of your soul.

And that can simply be,

What is it that you want me to know in this moment?

Silently asking that question in your mind,

And simply sitting to receive anything,

A word,

An image,

A feeling from your soul.

And now beginning to bring yourself back into your physical body to the human that your soul has,

Knowing that you are both.

That this love that you sensed,

This compassion that you felt,

This gratitude that you experienced is always available to you and is something your soul always feels for this human part of you.

And you can come back to remembering that you are a soul with a human.

And when you remember that,

You can choose how you wish to view the things you experience in your human world,

In your human life.

What might your soul know about those experiences?

How might your soul feel about those experiences?

I hope this is a practice you return to,

To cultivate this connection with your soul,

So that over time you can simply drop into your own heart,

Feel that gratitude,

Feel that love,

Repeat that phrase,

I am a soul with a human,

Connect with your soul,

And then seek any guidance that you might wish to seek.

Ask any questions that you might have,

So that your soul can guide you through this human experience that it came here to have.

Taking a nice deep inhale through the nose,

Big sigh to exhale.

Deep breath in through the nose.

Big sigh to exhale.

One more deep breath in.

Big sigh to exhale.

Beginning to wriggle your fingers,

Wriggle your toes,

Perhaps rubbing the palms of the hands on the legs,

Feeling the sensation in the palms as you touch a part of your body,

The fabric of your clothing.

Returning to the awareness of this human part of yourself,

Remembering that your soul is a very big part of who you are.

You are a soul with a human.
