Allow yourself to sit back,

To close your eyes,

To release tension,

Resentment,

And as you follow your breath in and out,

You feel the muscles in your chest relax,

Release and let go.

You feel the muscle within your chest,

Your heart relax,

Release and let go.

You feel a sense of openness come about you,

Continuing to follow the breath,

Relaxing into this moment,

Feeling your sovereignty,

Your sense of peace,

Your sense of love.

And with your eyes closed like a movie screen on the inside of your forehead,

An image flickers up,

You as an infant being held by your mother.

You see it both from the outside as well as from your own perspective and the perspective of your mother.

She holds you close to her chest.

She looks in your face.

And in this moment,

You can feel her love,

Her hope,

Her pure love.

And as your perspective travels from the outside,

You see the image,

You being held as a baby,

Your mother looking lovingly into your face.

And your perspective goes deeper.

You see not just two beings,

Two humans,

You see two souls.

You,

A new soul,

Having come into this world,

And your mother,

A soul that's been on her path.

You feel both the love,

Hope,

And pride she brings to this moment,

As well as as a soul,

The pain,

Struggle,

And the trauma she has endured,

Like so many others,

In her time on earth.

You can see and feel at once that she wants to do her very best,

But that she has limitations,

Flaws,

Challenges.

In this lifetime,

And perhaps past lifetimes,

She brings all of that to the experience and the challenge of being a mother to you.

You continue to feel that pure love energy between you.

And you see two souls again,

Two souls that have been brought together to learn lessons through one another.

Two souls who will learn and grow on the path of life together.

Two souls who through challenge,

Struggle,

Friction,

As well as beautiful,

Pure love,

Will grow,

Transform,

And ascend together.

You zoom out further and see that you too have challenges,

Virtues,

Mistakes,

Limitations,

But that like your mom,

You do your best in life.

And so you see these two souls at the beginning of your life path.

You both have hope,

Love,

And pride.

You'll both mess up,

Make mistakes,

Get lost,

Learn and grow.

And as your mom takes one hand and brushes her thumb lovingly on your cheek,

With all of that love that bringing new life into the world brings,

You have a deep understanding of her humanity and the work of her soul.

Your heart opens.

You relax into love,

Forgiveness,

Understanding and release.

Breathe in and out.

As we close this guided visualization,

Keep your eyes closed for a couple more moments.

Mark that image in your mind of your mom holding you as a baby with all that love and hope.

Mark the openness of your heart.

Mark your perspective as seeing everyone as a soul on a life path.

Learning,

Growing,

Making mistakes,

Getting lost,

Found,

And doing our best.

Release expectation for how others should be and vow to love yourself the way that you need and want to be loved.

Vow to accept the love that others are willing to give and put boundaries in place when necessary.

Vow to love some people from afar.

And vow to cultivate compassion for everyone's life path.

In your zoom out perspective,

You can see that we're all in this together.

You allow feelings of well-being to course through your body as you relax into this state of acceptance,

Forgiveness,

Love,

And perspective.

A smile comes to your face.

You take another couple of breaths as you come back to the present moment.

And carry that love with you as you go through your day,

Your week,

Your month,

Your year,

And every interaction.

Very nice meditation. I was able to see it all very clearly. But I think it might take us somewhat longer version for me to feel as much compassion and forgiveness as I would like to feel. My mother did a lot of good things for my brother and me, as well as a cousin, who grew up with us, and I know she had a lot to take care of. but sometimes she was very erratic, and could be harsh. And even though she had taken a vow, with my father, to always support the children, she didn’t find it easy at times, especially as an only child herself. I suppose people don’t need to hear all about it. But I did find a little bit of forgiveness and I hope to try again. Thank you so much.
