This is going to be a gentle meditation for discovery.
You are autistic.
Take a slow breath.
Their heart.
There is no need to understand everything tonight.
Perhaps you have only just begun to see yourself differently.
Perhaps someone gave you a word.
A word that seemed to open the door.
You didn't even know was there.
And suddenly So many things are standing on the other side.
The things that never quite made sense.
The exhaustion.
The overwhelmed.
The need for quiet.
And the way some sounds could fill your whole body.
The way some places felt like too much.
The way you needed more time to recover.
The way you sometimes needed to disappear for a little while just to feel like yourself again Perhaps you are looking back at your childhood now.
You are looking at friendships at school.
You are looking at work and relationships.
And that all the little moments you thought were somehow your fault.
And perhaps something inside you is whispering.
So that's why.
Let yourself have that moment You don't have to push it away You don't have to decide.
What it means yet.
Just let the understanding arrive softly.
Perhaps that is relief.
Perhaps there is sadness.
Perhaps there is anger.
Or there is even joy.
Perhaps there is disbelief.
Or there is nothing you can name at all.
All of it belongs here.
You don't have to choose one feeling.
You are allowed to have many hearts inside the same heart.
The part of you that is relieved.
The part that is grieving.
The part that is curious.
The part that is frightened.
Part that wants to celebrate.
The part that wants to cry for the little child you once were.
Let them sit together Nobody has to leave.
And if you find yourself looking back and thinking,
Why didn't anyone know?
What I didn't die know.
Or why did I have to try so hard?
Please be very gentle with yourself.
You didn't have the understanding you have now you were living with the information you had.
You were finding ways to move through a world that sometimes felt confusing,
Overwhelming or simply too loud.
And you learned.
You adapt it.
You became very good at many things.
Perhaps too good at hiding the coast.
But you were never failing.
You were surviving with the tools you had.
And they hunger you the one who tried so hard to fit in.
The one who watched other people to learn what to do.
The one who came home exhausted and didn't know why.
The one who wondered why everything seemed easier for everyone else.
That little person deserves tenderness now.
Not criticism and not embarrassment,
Not shame,
Just tenderness.
You can sit beside them.
You don't have to explain anything.
You can simply say,
I see you now.
You learn too much.
You weren't not enough.
You were never broken.
You were trying to find your way.
And perhaps they will look at you with those old uncertain eyes.
And perhaps for the first time they will believe you.
There may be things you understand differently now.
There may be memories that rearrange themselves.
There may be grief for years you cannot get back.
Let yourself grieve them.
You don't have to turn grief into gratitude.
You don't have to say that everything happened for a reason.
Some things were simply hard.
Some things hurt.
Some things you needed and didn't receive.
It's okay to know that now.
And still,
There can be relief.
A beautiful,
Quiet relief.
The relief of finally knowing that your needs are real,
That your sensitivity is real,
That your exhaustion is real,
That your way of experiencing the world is real.
You don't have to argue with yourself anymore.
You don't have to keep asking,
Why can't I just Perhaps the question can become something softer.
What do I need?
What helps me breathe?
What helps me feel safe?
What gives me energy?
What takes it away?
Where can I be completely myself?
What kind of quiet does my heart need?
These are not weaknesses.
They are invitations to know yourself and you don't have to learn everything at once.
There is no examination,
No deadline,
No perfect way to be autistic.
You don't have to become a new person.
Perhaps you are simply meeting yourself more honestly.
And maybe that is enough.
So today,
If you are still wondering what this new understanding will change.
You don't have to know.
Let tomorrow bring tomorrow's answers.
Today,
Just let yourself be held by the knowledge that you make more sense than you once thought you did.
Your story makes sense.
Your needs make sense.
Your tiredness makes sense.
The ways you love make sense.
The ways you find joy make sense.
Even the parts of yourself you have spent years trying to understand They belong.
Nothing needs to be fixed today.
Nothing needs to be decided.
You can simply sit at the threshold of this new understanding,
With one hand holding the past,
And the other gently touching the future.
And somewhere between them there is you.
Not the person you were expected to be,
Not the person you learned to perform,
Just you.
Perhaps for the first time with a little more room to breathe.
So take another breath,
Dear heart.
And if tears come,
Let them come.
If relief comes,
Let it come.
If laughter comes,
Let it come too.
There is room for all of it.
You have spent enough time trying to fit yourself into places that were not made with you in mind.
Perhaps now you can begin making a little space for yourself,
A quiet room,
A softer day,
A slower morning.
A light that feels like home Not all at once,
Just one small kindness at a time.
Ready.
There is no late.
That is not too late.
There is only here.
There is only now.
And here you are.
Finally listening to the person who has been with you all along.
You.
So rest here for a little while You don't have to celebrate.
You don't have to grieve.
You don't have to understand,
You can simply And,
Perhaps very softly,
You can say to yourself,
I believe you now.
I believe what you feel.
I will listen.
I will be gentler with you.
I am glad I found you.
And if that is all you can say today,
Let it be enough.
Because you are still here.
You have always been here and perhaps this new world has not changed who you are.
Perhaps it has simply turned on a little light so that you can finally see yourself clearly.
And just look at you.
You were never broken.
You were always becoming.
Yourself.
