Welcome to this guided meditation.
It's time to prepare to wind down from the day and allow your body to rest.
Find a comfortable position lying down and gently close your eyes.
Notice your surroundings and the sound of my voice.
And begin to settle in.
Feel the weight of your head on your pillow.
Notice your body and any tensions that you might be holding onto.
And begin to slow your breathing.
And fill your body with air.
Fully expand and release your chest,
Breathing into any areas of tension.
And just continue to bring your attention to your breath,
Like the swell and the crash of ocean waves.
Back and forth.
In and out.
Giving yourself plenty of time right now to wind down.
Just breathing in and out.
And now see if you can bring up an image of a starry night sky and the moon.
The darkness all around you,
Lit with a gentle glow.
Clouds drifting by.
Imagine floating among them,
Weightless,
Releasing any cares from the world as you soar freely in the sky and continue your deep breaths.
Welcoming peace and stillness.
And you might see if you can find a nice fluffy cloud.
And just rest on top of it,
In the midst of its vapors.
Suspended and releasing any negative energy.
Continue to breathe deeply,
Sinking heavier each time,
Allowing the muscles in your body to release.
It's time to settle in,
Welcoming stillness and peace.
And go gently and softly into the night.
And now see if you can bring up an image of a starry night sky and the moon.
