Hi friends,
I just wanted to share a simple practice that I use for myself to cultivate joy.
Whenever I'm feeling down or sad or just a little low on energy,
I just shut everything I'm doing off and I ground myself into the simple practice of bouncing.
I widen my feet,
Hip-width distance,
Toes facing forward.
I soften my ankles,
Knees,
And hips,
And shoulders,
And I just allow myself to simply bounce.
I'll close my eyes.
Sometimes I'll look a little left to right,
Gently.
And connecting to the breath and just notice what arises for myself.
First,
I notice what I might feel in my body,
What might feel tight,
And then I just simply breathe into those spaces.
You can bounce for shorter or as long as you want,
But if you continue watching the video,
I will take you through a guided bouncing practice.
So we'll start feet hip-width distance.
And we'll just gently soften the bounce.
Slow bounce first.
And just.
.
.
Feeling the body as you bounce.
But also noticing the music that's attached to this track.
I chose this track because for me,
It awakens something childlike in myself,
Which is always the source of my own innate joy.
I hope it doesn't sink for you.
That's kind of quick in the box next.
Bringing a smile to your face.
Connected to the max inhale,
Exhale.
Inhaling.
Exhilarating!
Continuing the double bounce and you'll notice I'm kind of shifting side to side.
This arrangement's a little bit more pretty.
In my body and allows me to also shake away what no longer is serving me.
And to realize this innate sense of joy in my body.
Go a little slower.
Allow the arms and shoulders to be relaxed.
I want you to bounce into the heel.
Think of dropping everything to the ground.
And that's intel.
Com.
Ah,
Exhale as you bounce.
Inhale.
Exhale.
Let's double time again.
Nice sock,
Now feel the toes this time.
Keeping a smile on your face.
If you're doing this with your eyes closed,
Just do it.
Sensing it to the body.
And I want to give you the freedom to bounce however you want.
I'm guiding you,
But the music and your body will tell you.
How it wants to release and bounce into joy.
Allow that freedom and allow yourself to be in that space.
I'm going to add a step touch for myself.
Four more.
And wipe.
Arriving into the stillness of the body.
Allow your eyes to close.
Natural breathing,
Inhaling through the nose,
Exhaling through the mouth.
And first noting any sensations in the body.
For me at this moment,
I'm feeling.
Tingling and buzzing in my head.
I want to.
All over my body.
Just noticing.
What you just awakened.
That is joyful within you.
Inhaling through the nose.
Exhaling through the mouth.
Next,
Taking your attention to the noises and frequencies around you.
Noticing how that affects the vibrations in the body.
And how the joy that you bounced into.
Informs your environment.
A nice inhale.
A nice exhale.
Inhaling joy,
Exhaling joy.
Inhaling joy.
Exhaling joy.
One more time,
Inhale enjoy.
And exhaling joy.
Bringing a smile to your face.
Gently wiggling the toes and the fingertips.
The head and the body.
Opening your eyes.
Thank you for bouncing into joy.
Thank you for taking this practice to connect to your younger self and the joy that is innate within you.
Take care.
