I invite you to close your eyes and just follow your breath inward.
Be with yourself right now.
Be with your breath right now.
Take a deep breath in from your belly and hold it for the count of five and release.
Let go of anything that takes you out of this moment,
This one precious moment.
Take a mindful breath in again and breathe out a smile and another one.
Be still.
Allow the stillness to unfold you softly,
Gently.
Feel the ecstasy here.
The undulating joy in the stillness of presence.
This moment,
This beautiful moment.
I'm about to take you on a journey,
A journey where you will have an opportunity to give the very most of yourself.
Where you will give from the divine feminine of yourself.
Even if you're a man you'll give from this place of nurturance and you shall receive from this place too.
The act of giving and receiving where there is love without limits is the purest form of grace that humans encounter.
So let's begin once again with your breath,
Curious breath,
Conscious breath.
So imagine you're in a room in a large beautiful house and imagine it's your house and it's bright and the walls are a soft hue of your favorite colors.
The sun is streaming from the windows,
The curtains are blowing slightly from a spring breeze.
You can smell the lilacs and fusing the living room from the lilac bush outside your window.
The hallway for the living room leads to a bright open kitchen with floor-to-ceiling windows that open out to the patio garden.
The flowers here are red and blue and pink and purple.
There are roses and tulips.
There are petunias and sunflowers.
There are daffodils and daisies and you step outside and you feel the sun on your body.
You feel the breeze caress your face.
You've poured yourself a glass of cranberry and soda with a squeeze of lemon which you put down on the table next to your chaise lounge where you are about to meditate.
You lie down on the lawn chair,
Adjust it so it's the perfect height for you and you close your eyes and you hear the birds singing from the trees in your yard and the neighbors yards and that's all the sounds there are.
There's nothing else but you and the songbirds and the breath that you're taking in the silence of your heart.
And then you hear music.
Music that you've never heard before.
It's like an angel choir.
Now accompanying the music are words.
Words cascading over you like milk and honey.
You're being told that a very special gift is on its way to you.
You'll be very surprised and you feel a sense of peace and also excited expectancy and then you suddenly wake up.
What an interesting dream.
You asked yourself have I been dreaming?
It was so real.
You stretch and open your eyes and feeling the Sun on your face again and you reach for your cool drink and just then the doorbell rings.
You weren't expecting anyone.
In fact you left a space for yourself this weekend to have no plans other than to nurture yourself.
You let family and friends know that you'd be away.
You wonder should I answer the door?
It wouldn't be surprising if it's your neighbor who saw your car in the driveway and just wants to come for a visit.
A chat.
She's lonely.
How many times have you stopped what you were doing?
Offered her tea and your time and neglected the tasks at hand?
Perhaps you won't answer it.
No not this time.
But even as you are thinking these thoughts you're feeling compelled to answer the door.
You get up you walk around the path leading from the backyard into the front yard toward the front door.
There's no one there.
And then you see it.
There's a basket.
A large basket.
You walk up to it look in and there's the most beautiful baby you have ever ever seen looking up at you.
How astonishing.
And the baby smiles as you look down at it.
Your whole body is filled with an emotion that you can't even describe.
Tears begin to fall from your eyes.
Chills run through every vein and you remember your dream.
In that nap you just had that you were about to receive a gift.
Could this be the gift?
Could this really be happening?
And then you see it.
The note.
And it says this is your child.
This child is here for you to love and nurture with all its heart.
All your heart.
Wow.
That's all the note says.
And you look through your veil of tears and begin to notice the similarities of this baby.
This child.
And in a moment's recognition you know that the baby is you and you are the baby.
And you are here to love and receive love in a way that you never have before.
You're overcome with love and yet sadness at the same time.
Looking into the eyes of this infant that is you.
You see everything.
You see the love and the tenderness,
The innocence,
Purity,
The true you.
The one who is born free.
Free to speak,
To dance,
To cry,
To take naps,
To sing,
To tell the truth,
To be inventive,
To love nature,
To love the animals and to love life.
And you see and know only too well the other part of this baby.
This child.
This infant.
The one who is so painfully wounded.
The one that had his childhood innocence stolen when you learn from others that you have to be quiet or that what you said didn't matter or that you weren't smart or talented which broke your heart.
You often felt isolated and alone but you you you learned you couldn't speak your truth and you couldn't cry so you learned to put on masks to hide your pain.
Dreaming and creating and being magnificent was for other people.
In time your spontaneous joyful beautiful child that loves to sing and dance and write and play.
It feels like an ancient dream of yours but you can't quite touch anymore.
Ah but you can.
You look again at this baby and you see its innocence,
Its purity,
And you reach down and you pick the baby up and you hold her or him in your arms and notice nothing has ever felt this right before.
Nothing.
And you know the miracle that has been bestowed upon you and you declare in this very moment that you will honor this child with every beat of your heart.
You look at her or him and you smile and you say welcome beauty beautiful child beautiful baby welcome to the world and welcome to my life.
And breathe.
And whenever you're ready you can let go of this image of that little child that is you and you can slowly and gently return to the room by opening your eyes and set your timer for 10 minutes and write where you are.
