Let me tell you about Sonia.
In case you're not aware of who she is,
I'd be surprised if you haven't heard of her,
But just in case,
Let me tell you.
Sonia Chouquette is a New York Times bestselling author and international speaker,
Widely regarded as today's preeminent leader on the subject of intuition.
One of our favorite subjects.
I'm so excited to talk about this.
Reawakening Humanity's sixth sense is Sonia's mission,
Her passion and her gift.
Rising up from her family's challenging circumstances,
She began offering intuitive readings to adults at the age of 12 and started her training with two master's degrees in metaphysical arts and spiritual law.
Since then,
Sonia has traveled the globe for over four decades,
Presented on the world's biggest stages and collaborated with leading spiritual teachers and media platforms to help millions reconnect with their innate intuitive intelligence.
Sonia's approach to teaching intuition is one of a kind.
Instead of drawing from rigid scientific or spiritual dogma,
She empowers her students to feel and listen to their own inner voices and experience of self-driven transformation through trust and reverence of the higher self.
Now you can see why I love her and why I have loved so much of her work.
I'm standing here,
I've got these books.
I realized I have so many of your things all over the place,
But I was like,
Oh my God,
Ask Your Guides is one of my faves.
I got my favorite little bookmark in there.
I've got The Psychic Pathway.
Sonia,
So you're just,
I'm so grateful that you're here and to have this conversation.
Oh,
It's a pleasure.
And of course it is my passion to empower as many people by turning their inner light back on as we can.
So it's a privilege to be here.
Thank you.
I,
Well,
I love that,
That turning the inner light back on.
I have so many questions about intuition and turning your light on and how to do that.
Yet before,
I would love to just share a little bit about you,
Your story,
The challenges growing up.
Like I know that,
Well,
I don't wanna give away what I've heard,
But how you came into this greater knowing and trusting of your intuition,
To the fact that you were giving readings at 12,
Maybe just to share for a minute what it was like for you.
Well,
Good question.
A common question for me from a lot of people is when did you discover you were intuitive?
And how to success?
And my answer is I never discovered it.
What I did discover when I started school around six,
Seven years old is that what was perfectly natural and completely obvious to me was not shared by others and especially by adults.
It was confusing because in my family of origin,
Which was really very matriarchal centered around my mother whom I was named after,
We grew up in a family where the sixth sense was the first sense.
It was the most important sense,
Partially in fact,
Because my mother was a Romanian war refugee who lost her family during an evacuation in World War II.
And she was just 12 years old.
She ended up in a prison camp.
She ended up losing her hearing from rheumatic fever.
She had nothing to save her life except her vibes.
She said,
Everywhere I looked around me,
Everyone just projected that you're gonna die,
This is the end.
And she said,
An inner voice in me would not agree with that.
And so I made the choice to follow that inner voice.
And she said,
It wasn't really a voice,
We're limited by language,
So we say voice,
But it was really a vibration.
It was a communication,
An energetic internal communication that just constantly said,
Listen to me,
I'll keep you safe.
That inner voice guided her to an emancipation.
Everybody,
The war ended.
My mom ended up living in Germany in a barn with a bunch of other refugees.
And she said it was desperate circumstances.
There was no food,
There was no resources,
We were alone.
So my inner voice then became a lifeline to survival.
And that inner voice told her one day that she was gonna marry the liberating,
Handsome American soldier that was just in town.
And all her friends laughed at her and said,
Look at you,
You wear armor boots,
You smell like a horse,
You stink,
You're in a barn,
You're ruffian.
Why would anybody give you the time of day?
But that American soldier turned out to be my father.
So they married and she came to America when she was just 15.
I was one of,
She had nine children,
She lost twins.
So I was the middle of what,
The remaining seven,
Named after her.
Our family grew up around a different set of priorities because she didn't go to school,
She didn't hear,
She couldn't speak the language.
So her authorities were internal.
And she passed that along to us.
It was never do what other people say,
It was always do what your heart says.
That was our value system.
It wasn't what approval do you seek outside,
But more listen for the approval of your inner self your spirit,
Your guides,
Your creator and go with that.
So I was enormously gifted with this level of personal empowerment as a child.
And because I was one of seven,
The reason I got so good at what I do is I had six brothers and sisters to compete with to get my mother's attention.
So I think it was just that motivated me more than anything when I was little,
I just wanted to be really good at the vibes.
But I did realize I actually was really good at reading other people.
By the time I was 12,
13,
14,
I started seeing things that I didn't understand for my age.
People having affairs and things not being congruent.
It was a little bit of an interesting learning curve.
And at one point I was asked to help the police in a murder.
And it was just traumatic for me because while I could intuitively see,
I emotionally didn't understand.
So I devoted my college years to studying what exactly is this?
And why do people have such a weird approach to it?
Because now it's becoming more mainstream.
But when I started,
I was out in the wilderness,
Believe me,
And very much considered a weirdo and a nut and religious pariah and whatever crazy notion.
So I've definitely met every trial by fire.
But I honestly felt from the beginning,
If you don't have your inner compass,
You are handicapped in the worst possible way.
How could you possibly live an authentic,
Safe,
Grounded,
Genuinely creative life if you're constantly in the dark?
It's like being in the dark in the jungle without a flashlight.
And it's just becomes just survival.
So I started teaching.
I wasn't happy with just doing readings.
I wanted people to turn their light back on because it's your inner light.
So my first class,
I was 15 years old.
And I had a client I'd been reading for for a couple years,
Her brother,
Who was a truck driver and was in town,
And his local mistress,
Which was still a concept.
I was getting my head around.
But I loved them.
And that was my first class.
And it was so much more rewarding than my readings which were rewarding,
But it was empowering others.
And so that's what I've been doing.
And that's been doing it ever since.
And I've devoted my life to keep doing it better and better and better.
Wow,
OK.
So thank you for sharing.
And I think this is just what a gift your mom,
I mean,
Instilled in you and your family.
Just to say,
I'm like,
What would this world be like if we all had a matriarch in the household that honored the sixth sense as the first sense?
So just really acknowledging and honoring your mom.
I don't know if she's still on the earth.
She passed last July,
But she's still right here.
Well,
I'm like,
Oh,
Wow.
So she,
That's amazing.
I just,
To have that,
What a gift that that was part of the way that.
That was the gift.
Because we all have this amazing sixth sense.
But we are taught and bullied into turning it off.
And here's the good news in teaching.
You don't have to rewire.
I just have to show you how to turn it back on.
It still works.
OK,
That is like the perfect segue.
Because what I'm hearing and what I'd love to know is,
OK,
Sonia,
So how do we turn it back on?
Especially,
I'll just say this.
I grew up in the Northeast,
Right around the corner from Harvard,
Like in that area.
Where I had a very loving family that was very open and heart-centered.
However,
I know a lot of people that grew up like I did with this huge focus on intellect and the mind and studying and being smart.
Good.
So here's the response.
And I will go to one of our greatest intellectuals,
Which is Einstein.
He said,
The human spirit is your sacred gift.
And the rational mind,
The intellect,
Is its faithful servant.
But sadly,
We have thrown away the gift and have become enslaved to the servant.
So the way we turn it on is that we recognize our intellect is not our superior knowing.
It is our secondary knowing.
And even intuition is the consciousness of your heart,
Which is the first organ in the body to develop.
The brain comes much,
Much later,
And all the other senses develop much,
Much later.
So they have a function,
But they are not the primary way of knowing.
So the way to get into your intuition is to get out of your head and reconnect to and accept the idea that your heart is a conscious,
Intelligent organ that can guide you.
And the good news is,
When I was teaching for all these years,
Science did not agree with me.
But it's grown up.
It's caught up.
And now science does agree.
So I'm not fighting against the most current intellectual understanding of who humans are.
We have a conscious heart that can know things in what is called a non-localized manner.
We pick up things energetically.
All of our senses pick up things energetically and vibrationally.
Our ears pick up vibration that hits our eardrums.
Our eyes pick up vibration that reflects off our pupils.
Our taste buds are hitting.
But the heart vibration is 5,
000 times stronger.
And so it picks up things way more quickly and more accurately than our other senses,
Because our other senses don't work very well.
We hear,
But we don't listen.
We see,
But we don't look.
We eat food,
But we swallow and gulp it down.
We don't taste.
We hold things in our hand.
And how many of us have run around going,
Where are my keys,
When you're holding them in your hand?
So our external senses don't really work that well.
Our heart sense,
When we start to focus on it and listen to it,
Pay attention to it,
Communicates very well.
But it doesn't communicate in words.
It communicates in feeling.
Now,
Our language interrupts,
Because we don't have language for our intuition.
So we say,
I hear my inner voice,
Because it's communicating a message.
But it's not necessarily a voice.
It is like when we hear music.
Music tells us something.
That's a beautiful,
Sad song,
And what a joyful song.
But we're not hearing words.
We're hearing an energy.
We're receiving and feeling an energy that communicates certain messages.
And that's how our intuition works.
It works in our heart.
But it also,
As I've learned over the years,
It's not just in your heart.
It's in your gut.
It's in your throat.
It's in your skin.
It's at the back of your neck.
We are a completely intuitive,
Energetic organ that can pick up energy and be informed.
So the key is to get current and recognize,
I have six senses,
And the sixth sense is the first one and the most powerful one.
Not only does it inform me of my external world,
But it keeps me connected to my authentic self.
So my favorite new saying is,
Your intuition doesn't serve to find your keys.
Your intuition serves to find yourself.
Oh,
I love that.
And it does a good job.
That,
Can you say it one more time?
That is so good.
You know,
I just got this from my own higher self.
I was teaching it and I said,
You know,
Intuition is not just to find your lost keys.
It's there to help you find your lost self.
And that is the best description of intuition that I have ever come up with.
So pat myself on the back.
That was a download.
Totally.
I,
You know,
And I feel like Sonia,
This should be taught in kindergarten,
You know.
It should be.
I actually wrote a book for parents called The Intuitive Spark.
To,
Because I learned in kindergarten,
You learn when you're open.
Yeah.
And parent,
I have a whole bunch of fun tools in that book for parents.
And they're all very play-oriented.
They're playful and empowering.
Where,
You know,
One of the things my mom taught me when I was little,
And this is a tool I'll pass along to parents.
If I ever had a bad vibe or felt uncomfortable,
All I had to do was squeeze her hand.
That was enough.
We left.
If I squeezed her hand,
She didn't say why,
What,
Explain yourself.
She knew bad vibes,
Not good for you.
So let's go.
And this is something I did with my children.
And now they're adults teaching intuition as well.
You know,
When you validate as a young person that what you feel is worth listening to and being respected,
Then your intuition becomes solidly anchored as the light that it is.
But it's never too late to reinstate that.
Wow.
I'm just getting,
If you're,
You know,
Age six,
Seven,
Five,
And you were taught to honor how you feel and to have that little like secret thing where you're going to squeeze her hand and she listens.
That's so empowering.
That's saying to listen,
To trust that,
Which is fantastic.
Well,
What we've been taught is that we have external authority figures that we have to please in order to be safe.
Well,
Those are all falling down as we speak.
So we're certainly being able to break through that illusion.
And I believe in the first commandment,
Which is not to have false gods.
And I think the approval and a permission of others to be who we are is a false god,
The biggest false god.
And so I feel like your intuition is something that you own and possess and permission to listen to it only comes from you.
No one else.
Others can support it,
Champion it,
Or they'll try to make you doubt it,
But it's up to you to say,
I trust my vibes.
And I use the word vibes because it communicates in vibration.
I trust my vibes and it works for me.
That's all you ever have to say.
I don't care what you think.
I trust my vibes.
It works for me.
Yeah.
Can we talk for a minute?
So I'm thinking,
You know,
I know a lot of people just from writing in who are listening are starting to wake up to starting to feel more of a,
Hmm,
There's more to the intellect and the mind and actually,
You know,
I want to understand what is that voice or that feeling?
How do I know when that's my intuition?
How do I start to pay attention to it?
And I'm wondering,
I know these are like basic.
These are very important because you need a strong foundation.
So the first thing I love to throw this word out,
It's called a zeit,
The word is zeitgeist.
Oh.
Zeitgeist is a word that means the spirit of the times.
And we are in an intuitive zeitgeist.
We are having a collective awakening,
Which is probably one of the most exciting things for me to experience in my lifetime.
That before it felt like I was talking to brick walls and people who would attack me.
And now everybody's receptive because enough people are starting to recognize their intuition that it jumpstarts in everyone else.
It's sort of like once upon a time,
Everyone said the earth was flat.
And then people started to say,
Well,
I don't know.
It looks like my sense there's more over the edge of my eyes.
And then pretty soon it flipped and everybody got the earth is round.
They were right at that tipping point again,
Which is very exciting.
Now,
There are some important pieces of information to actually discern what is actual intuition.
And how can I tell it from wishful thinking and my ego?
So there's some signatures.
Intuition is a feeling.
So it doesn't have a lot of words.
If you're going through a lot of words in your head and you're explaining and you're going back,
That's your head,
That's your intellect.
The other thing is that intuition is consistent.
It will feel the same in the morning and is that midday and at noon.
It'll be the same at night.
So the feeling,
Because intuition reflects the true vibration,
The true nature of things.
So it's not gonna be jumping around.
Intuition leaves your body feeling like open,
Like you open where your head contracts,
Your intellect contracts,
It defends,
It tries to control where intuition,
Even if the intuition you are getting is a warning,
Is like,
Don't do that or don't go there.
The minute you acknowledge it,
Your body relaxes because the heart is opening.
The other thing is that intuition rings true.
It's not right or wrong in the intellect because that's subjective,
Right or wrong for who?
It rings,
It resonates as truth.
And so you feel like,
Yeah,
That's true for me.
Not true for everyone,
But for me.
Whereas,
And to get to that kind of inner guidance,
You have to be truthful.
The biggest reason people are not intuitive is because they prefer to focus on an alternative,
Non-true reality.
Like for example,
Well,
Of course I'm in a good marriage when it's terrible or I have to keep this job when it's making you sick.
Or we're gonna stay in this job even though everything in you tells you to stop.
So you have to get your head on board.
You have to be willing to,
And you can always have a choice.
You don't have to listen to your intuition,
But I'd say be truthful and honest enough with yourself to at least acknowledge it.
Now here's another very practical tool when it comes to your intuition.
Speak it out loud,
Because if it's true intuition,
You'll feel,
It'll come back and you'll feel it in your own voice.
You'll feel it in your heart,
Your chest,
Your body.
It will feel and resonate as truthful.
Your intellect and your ego has a very different tone.
It doesn't land here.
It floats out here.
So that's another way,
Speak it out loud and see if it lands.
There's absolutely the intellect.
I was just teaching a workshop in Paris,
Very intellectual city,
Last weekend.
Everybody showed up with notebooks and ready to take notes.
And I had them put the notes away.
And I brought a woman up and I said,
What does your intuition say?
And she was just blah,
Blah,
Blah,
Blah,
Blah,
Blah,
And the whole audience was just neutral.
And then I said,
That's not your intuition.
And I finally got her to actually go deeper and come up with what was really,
Really her intuition and really her heart.
And the audience who doesn't know her erupted into applause.
That is the actual human response to your true spirit speaking.
It amplifies and activates other people's intuition.
And I said,
That's how you tell.
That's how you tell.
If it just flops down.
Now,
If you get a negative reaction,
It's because people's egos are pushing back.
And so you have to be prepared for that as well.
And don't look for approval.
Just say,
I'm going with my vibes.
I'm going to do what works for me.
And then be willing to do that.
There are so many.
These are some fantastic tools.
I think the underbelly of what you just said is really important about not looking for approval.
What I know from my own life experience around this and just a little bit of what I've seen is,
There is an element,
I think,
Of having some courage in- Totally.
Yeah.
Because it's,
I know my own,
Sometimes that intuition.
I had decided to make a major life U-turn and I decided to listen to it because I hadn't.
And I know other,
And that feels like one of the most courageous things I've gone through.
Yeah,
I want to applaud you.
That's my response.
I'm sure everybody listening feels the same way because that,
And intuition comes from here.
And courage is a word that comes from the French word courage,
Which means heart.
So courage is movement from the heart.
So very good point.
Very,
The core essential point about this.
Yeah.
Yeah,
And I just,
I'm sure,
I don't know if you've experienced this,
I'm imagining at some point in your life where getting that tuning fork,
That vibe,
That resonance,
Sometimes what might come up can be like,
Oh,
Okay,
What am I,
The choice,
What am I going to do?
You know,
It's interesting,
Sonia,
After that experience,
I made a decision of vow to honor it no matter what,
Which is not always easy,
Frankly.
And like you said,
That,
I love that,
Right?
The French,
The core,
Right,
Of the heart.
There's just something about that being aware and having choice.
I know for me,
I would never want to go back to ignoring it,
That did not work.
I am crazy to ignore it.
Yeah,
Yeah,
Like I actually think,
I'm curious what you think about this,
So much dis-ease,
Right,
Mentally,
I'm curious about that.
Well,
That's what I was mentioning earlier.
Your body relaxes when you listen to your authentic self.
To me,
Your intuition is the voice of your spirit.
It is the communication of your authentic self,
Your divine,
Most authentic,
Creative,
Empowered self.
And it speaks through your cells.
And when you listen,
Your body relaxes.
It's in alignment with your sacred gift.
When you ignore it,
You're going against the grain of how you're designed.
You're going against the grain of your body as a truth serum and a truth teller.
So when you don't listen to it,
You're living an inauthentic life.
And it creates dissonance and stress and some of the other irritability.
It creates agitation,
It creates impatience,
It creates fear,
Frankly.
If you don't listen to your intuition,
You're living in fear because your ego is by nature fearful.
So it will find ways to manage its fear.
It'll be the boss,
The bully,
The patriarch,
The submissive,
Whatever,
But these are all just fear-driven roles.
When you listen to your intuition,
It takes courage,
But interestingly,
The paradox is,
It liberates you from a fearful life.
You become fearless.
And it's like,
Well,
You know,
That's why I always say,
Trust my vibes,
It works for me.
It's like,
If you're not.
.
.
So never defend your intuition to anyone else and hoping that they'll get on board.
Don't need it.
Say,
I'm okay that you don't approve.
I'm okay that you think I'm not.
I accept that.
Which brings me to another big part of intuition.
You have to take responsibility for yourself in a bigger way.
And a lot of people,
Unfortunately,
Although this is greatly changing,
Prefer not to.
But to me,
The idea of turning your wellbeing over to other people and expecting them to run your life better than your inner voice is insane.
And give me some evidence where that is actually validated.
Give me the evidence for that.
Give me evidence that listening to external authorities and other people and ignoring your inner voice has been a good idea.
I have never found anybody to give me evidence for that.
So using my scientific approach,
Sorry.
Well,
It just doesn't make any sense.
I mean,
If you think about even on a,
You know,
I know you've studied this at a deep level,
The metaphysical,
Like we're all this divine,
You know,
The spark within each of us.
What I'm hearing you say,
And this really does ring true,
Is it's really incumbent upon us to tune in and hear and connect and feel that divine spark because you are the only one with the key.
So like the whole finding the key is actually,
It's finding the keys to you.
Exactly,
That's my point.
It's like,
Look,
My teachers,
I had very good teachers.
And one of my teachers says,
Anybody who suggests that you need their permission to run your life is a false teacher and you should run away because a real teacher sets you free.
And the best teacher is the inner teacher.
That's what intuition,
By the way,
Is the literal meaning of the word.
It's,
You know,
Teacher.
I did not know that.
Yeah.
Oh,
Isn't that,
All right,
Everyone,
I could just feel like,
I swear,
I feel everyone listening is like,
What just happened?
Like,
I always say mind blown because I'm like,
We don't want our minds to be blown,
But glowing,
Like glowing,
Like that is- It's mind opening.
Mind.
And it lets your mind support your intuition.
They're supposed to be friends.
But when your mind runs your life,
When your intellect runs your life,
Fear is driving the bus.
And I am very playful.
I call your ego,
Your friendly barking dog,
Companion to your spirit.
It's your,
Some might have a great dame,
Some might have a chihuahua,
Some might have a snotty poodle like me who likes to shop and be all fancy pansy,
But the ego is still the companion,
Not the master.
Your spirit is the part of you that knows.
The spirit in you is a part of you that resonates and is truthful and aligned with the divine energy of both horizontal and vertical plane.
So I say,
Name your barking dog.
Mine is Fifi.
So when I'm in fear,
I know that's Fifi trying to drive the bus of my life.
And then name your spirit.
Mine is bright light.
Bright light,
Because it shines a bright light on my past.
So I can tell,
Am I listening to Fifi or bright light?
If it's Fifi,
It's noisy,
Too much talking,
And agitated and ready for a fight.
And if it's bright light,
I just see so I can relax.
So that's how we learn to change the way we roll.
Get out of all the dialogue and just get a little metaphor.
What's your barking dog and what's your spirit?
So what would your dark barking dog be,
For example?
Oh my God,
I love this.
And I'm like,
Oh gosh,
Like,
What is my name?
That is so fun.
And it actually shifts,
Like,
I'm like,
You know,
The ego,
I love this.
Like,
It's the companion.
We're not trying to kill it.
Why?
We're not going to shoot the dog.
Right,
But I love dogs.
Right,
Right,
Right,
Right.
Well,
I'm laughing because I feel like I have some nicknames and I'm like,
Oh,
I feel like it's like JJ.
Like,
That's my.
.
.
And mine's a poodle.
What's yours?
You know,
It's funny.
I could see mine as,
I was seeing a poodle as well,
Or like one of those cute,
What do you call those,
Like doodles?
I don't know.
Labradoodle.
Labradoodle,
They're sweet.
Like,
They're like,
Looks like a bear.
Yeah,
Sweet.
But still not the boss.
So what would your spirit's name be?
I have a.
.
.
She gave me the name Queen Jay Ray.
Excellent,
Perfect.
So when Queen Jay Ray's on board,
I know.
And when it's my little barking dog,
I'm limited.
Right,
Right,
I love that.
You can love both,
But you have to know who's the boss.
Yeah,
I love.
.
.
This was given to me in a download,
And I'm telling you,
It is the simplest way to get into your intuition and out of your head and have fun at the same time.
Yeah,
It's great.
Now,
Sonia,
That is so.
.
.
I'm gonna sit with those names.
That's what I have for right now.
But I love that because it also,
You know,
There's a lot out there that's like,
Kill the ego.
And I'm like,
No,
No,
No.
No way.
We don't wanna kill anything in ourselves.
No,
We need our ego as companion to the spirit.
It's when your ego supports your intuition,
You start having a really good life.
Right,
Oh,
Isn't that a great way?
I'm laughing because I'm like,
My little JJ would totally go shopping with Fifi because I'm gonna tell you right now.
Yeah,
It's fun,
Especially if you live in Paris.
Yeah,
I'm like,
Let me know when that's happening.
Yeah,
Absolutely.
But what you just said is really important.
What you just said about the needing,
You just said that,
And I will go back to that quote about needing,
You know,
Both.
The ego,
We need both.
Yeah,
We need both.
For example,
My bright light says,
You have to move to Paris.
Okay,
My barking dog,
Fifi,
Can say,
That's impossible.
That's not gonna happen.
How do you explain that?
How are we gonna do that?
Or she can say,
As Fifi did,
What a good idea.
I'll look into tickets.
I'll help find apartments.
I'll figure out how to get the visa.
I will help you.
And that's what happened.
See,
So you can go either way,
But when you get your ego helping you,
You have a magical life.
Well,
And I remember,
I think you are dear friends,
And it's someone who's also been a big,
Big,
She's really,
Really,
Really impacted my life as well as Julia Cameron.
And I remember her story about moving to Santa Fe when she was like,
I'm noticing peppers and I'm wanting,
You know,
Like that kind of Southwest,
You know,
I love the adobe flavor.
And I just remember that was one of the first,
It's funny,
That book,
The Artist's Way,
And then I think I read one of yours soon after,
It's about 20 years ago,
Literally,
Back to my intuition,
My desire to listen.
And I remember that,
Like they played together,
It's what you're saying,
Like,
I'm gonna go to France and your ego- Right,
Instead of attacking me,
Which often the ego will do to the spirit,
You train the barking dog to support you.
I'll help you.
Well,
I'll make this easy.
I'll cooperate.
I'll do my part.
That's the way you're designed.
That's how it should work.
You would never be created where two parts of you have to be at war with one another for control.
They're friends.
You just have to put the spirit as the boss and the barking dog,
Supportive brain as the companion.
Yeah,
This is,
I'm gonna give everyone the homework.
If you're listening,
I hope you're still with us here.
You need to,
Not need to,
We're gonna invite you,
Name your barking dog,
Name your spirit,
And let us know.
You can- Yes.
Let us know what- And enjoy,
What kind of dog is it?
Because your barking dog's temperament is interesting.
If you're a bulldog,
Your barking dog might be stubborn.
I don't wanna change.
If you're a lazy Labrador,
It's like,
Ah,
This is too much work.
If you're a chihuahua,
You're under the bed.
I'm scared,
I'm scared,
I'm scared.
And then you laugh at the whole thing and then none of it scares you.
That's brilliant.
That is so,
I love this.
This is such a great activity and such a great way to see it in a way that- Refrains everything and makes it easy.
Yeah,
Oh my gosh.
That is so fun.
I'm gonna be sitting with and I might even draw it.
Ask your friends,
Ask them what their barking dogs are.
It's fun.
Everybody gets it.
And you will occasionally get someone to say,
Well,
I'm a cat.
And those are the ones that have an ego that needs to be special.
And it's like,
Okay,
I got that too.
But you still,
It's not your spirit.
Even if it's a cat and I love- Even if it's a cat,
Whatever.
The point is,
It's not your spirit.
Right,
Oh,
That's so good.
I know before we wrap soon,
I do wanna ask if we have time,
One other question that's kind of the,
To me it seems like the all-star aspect of intuition.
And I know I'm looking at this book,
Which when I saw it,
I was like,
Yes,
Please.
I'd like to know how to tap into this,
The psychic pathway.
And I'm curious,
Is being psychic,
Like is that everyone can be psychic?
Are we- Oh,
Here's the thing.
Psychic mean,
Let's just go to the word itself.
The word itself means of the soul.
So everybody has a soul that is dialed in and here to learn and grow and participate and engage and create.
So the psychic pathway is the pathway that says,
I'm here more than just to manage my survival.
I'm here to learn and grow and participate and create at the highest level.
And I recognize that I have a soul and a spirit that will guide me to do that.
I'm not just a blob of flesh and bones.
And I have a divine source that's leading me.
And that is the root of that.
Psychic pathway was my very first book I wrote.
I wrote that book 25 years ago and I've written 30 other books since.
So I have elaborated and refined and come up with tools to just let people know,
Look,
The difference between being intuitive and being psychic is being musical and being a maestro on the piano.
You get really good at it.
And you get really good at something you keep focusing on,
You can dial in more and more and more and more and more.
Beautiful,
Beautiful way to explain it.
So it is,
We all,
And I think just to reiterate for everyone,
Everyone has intuition.
We're designed with it.
Yes.
You have a heart,
You have intuition.
Yes,
You have the beating heart.
You know,
When your brain dies,
You still can live.
Yeah.
It's only when your heart goes that you're gone.
You are,
Your essence is in your heart.
That is your life force.
That is your lifeline.
That is who you are.
So,
And you know,
I have a book that I just re-released here recently that I think would be very helpful for people.
And it's so basic,
It's called Trust Your Vibes.
Love that book.
And it is just tools,
Basic,
Do this,
Do this.
Don't trust me,
Try this and trust your vibes.
And so I'd say that to me should be in everybody's house,
One by the bedside,
One in the bathroom,
One at the kitchen by the coffee maker,
Trust your vibes.
And you have these little bite-sized tools that keep,
You know,
Just try this and learn to feel and experience and trust.
Because actually,
You know what I think,
Julia?
I think everybody's psychic,
But we're not choosing to trust it.
Yeah.
The game changer,
As you realize when you made your big decision,
Is when you choose to trust it,
That's when your life starts working.
Yep,
Yep,
Amen.
I'm a big F yes.
Yeah,
Well,
You are the poster child for this.
It's like when I trusted it and made a U-turn and actually did something that my inner guidance advised,
My life started working.
Yeah.
And everybody had a fit around me maybe,
But- Yeah.
I had to go through that wall of fire,
But I did it.
And my life is working.
Yeah,
Absolutely.
I,
You know,
It's funny,
I'm laughing internally because my arm hair is sticking up.
Like I have chills.
I'm like,
I love this woman,
Not to be weird,
But I'm like,
You should listen to me.
Well,
You love the message.
Trust your vibes,
Trust the message,
Trust yourself.
It's the most liberating message you will ever,
It's the most liberating choice you'll ever make in your life.
You know what I call it?
The missing piece.
If something's not working in your life,
It's that.
It's the missing piece.
Sonja,
I love what you just said.
And I will make sure to have the name of this book,
The information.
I know you also have the Good Vibe Tribe for people that wanna like play and learn how to- Well,
If you need people to support you as you're building your confidence and developing your courage,
Come to the Good Vibe Tribe.
I'm on there every single day with a tip,
A tool,
Encouragement,
And a great community.
Amazing.
I mean,
This has been,
To me,
What we're talking about,
It's like,
It's almost like if you got into a car and you didn't know how to turn it on,
Yet you're going.
Like it just,
To me,
This is,
I guess having gone through that experience,
Like everyone,
Everyone should know how to put the key in and turn it on,
Because we have it.
Right,
Because it's power.
It's the power of you getting to be your real self.
Yeah,
Yeah.
And I don't know,
I feel like this is what the message is,
What's needed now more than anything.
Me too.
So thank you for letting me share it.
I'm so grateful.
Oh my gosh.
Well,
Thank you.
Thank you from the maestro,
Or maestro,
I'm not sure if I'm saying it the right way.
Queen JJ and little JJ,
And love you all,
And enjoy your barking dog and go shopping,
But let the queen make the choices.
All right,
Amen to that,
Sonia,
I love it.
Everyone,
Let your queen make your choices,
Or king,
Or queen-king,
Whatever you call it.
Let that- Let the spirit lead.
Let the spirit lead.
Thank you,
Sonia,
So,
So much.
What a gift,
Such a gift to be with you.
Wasn't that conversation so amazing?
I'm still like reverberating,
My whole,
My vibe is like still,
Still in this like,
Oh my gosh,
What she said feels so true,
Right?
And I just wanted to say,
Because what we're doing here,
This whole topic about being your USU,
I think,
Hopefully,
If you know me by now,
And if not,
I'm so happy you're here and welcome.
However,
You probably have a sense that,
For me,
At the core,
For all of us,
It is about your intuition.
Your USU is your deepest connection to spirit,
To your higher self,
To that inner wisdom,
That divine inner wisdom that lives within each of us.
And so,
I am really hoping that this conversation was helpful for you.
I truly would love to know,
What do you name your barking dog?
What do you name that spirit aspect of you?
Let us know in the Facebook,
USU Facebook community,
Send an email back,
Like really let me know and share how that is helping you,
Serving you.
I just loved what Sonia said about,
That's where the magic happens,
When we are not at war with ourselves,
But we allow our spirit,
We allow our higher self to really be the guide,
Our intuition to be the guide.
Your USU,
That's what that is my friend.
So,
I just wanted to pull that thread before we ended.
I'm so,
So grateful to have Sonia here,
To have you here,
Thankful and honored to be part of your life and your journey.
It's been a gift this year,
And I can tell you in the year to come,
Some amazing,
Amazing guests and interviews set up and lined up.
And as always,
It is about helping each of you,
Each of us to tap more deeply into our most authentic,
Genuine selves,
Our higher self.
My me is me,
Your you is you.
I really do believe as we each do that,
We start to live lives that are congruent,
That are coherence,
That are aligned,
That are gonna help each of us to be more loving and more kind and more in a space of unity.
And I do believe our world could use each of us being in that space of unity within ourselves and of course,
Unity with one another.
