Welcome to this meditation on the witch's new year,
Samhain.
This final harvest festival is the last in the traditional harvest season and the day generally falls on October 31st into November 1st,
The same time that many countries also observe Halloween.
This ancient pagan festival marks the midpoint between the autumn equinox and the winter solstice and as such it invites the dark half of the year,
A movement from the bright summer and fall into the dark introspective winter season.
As we move into the darker half of the year,
We also connect to the magic of darkness,
Our thoughts,
Our imagination,
And the spirit world.
It is said that this is the time when the veils between the worlds thin and many of us find our intuition perks up around this time.
Let's take this meditation together to invite this darker aspect of ourselves,
Bringing in the magic of the darker half of the year.
If you haven't already,
Take some time to get comfortable for this meditation.
This could be done seated,
Lying down,
Or however you feel most comfortable.
Close your eyes and settle into the darkness behind your eyelids.
Acknowledge the earth beneath you and the land that you are on.
Consider your relationship with this particular part of the world.
Think about the abundance that the earth has brought forth for you this year and notice the shift toward the quieter season when the earth does not offer forth,
But rather rests.
Imagine a circle of protection around yourself.
Clarify that this circle of protection invites in only energies that are for your highest good and the highest good of all.
Any energies that are not in alignment with this highest good are simply filtered out.
Imagine a very bright golden light above your head,
Connecting to source or God or a spirit or whatever you want to call it.
Connected to the everything that you are already a part of.
Allow this loving,
Cleansing,
Clearing light to shower over your body,
Your head,
Your eyes,
Your throat,
Your heart,
Your stomach,
And down your legs,
And then circling back around the crown of your head,
Creating a container of safety.
Take a few moments to sit in the darkness behind your eyes,
To simply be here,
Receiving the quiet.
Now draw your attention to the location of your third eye.
This is in between your eyebrows and slightly above them.
This is where you can see what is unseen,
The eye through which you can see in the dark.
Set an intention to invite your intuition,
To welcome your ability to see or feel or hear that which is normally invisible.
Don't push your energy out from your third eye,
But rather imagine receiving,
Simply allowing any images to come through because you are opening to them,
Not because you're looking for anything in particular.
Again,
This may come through as hearing or feeling or in some other way.
Take some time to sit in the dark with your inner seeing and trust whatever comes.
Now allow your awareness to move away from your third eye and down through the rest of your body.
Intuition can come through the heart,
The gut,
The skin.
There are many ways of knowing.
Simply notice the rest of your body,
Listening to the sensations or images that appear as you spend some time with the various parts of yourself.
Be open to receiving any messages from your body that your body may be trying to communicate.
Take a few more breaths here,
Receiving any more wisdom,
Messages,
Communications,
Or quiet that may be available.
See if there's anything else that you want to make sure you keep with you.
You may have gotten some clear messages today.
You may have gotten confusing or foggy messages,
Or you may have gotten nothing at all.
It doesn't matter.
This meditation is an invitation to your intuition to join you on this Samhain moment.
This intention will stay with you as we move out of this meditation.
You may wish to spend some time paying attention to signs and dreams over the next few days.
Turn your attention to the bright light above your head.
Let it again shower over you,
Gently cleansing any energies that are not yours or not in alignment with your highest good.
Offer gratitude to whatever is around you.
When you feel ready,
You may gently open your eyes.
Welcome to Samhain and the dark half of the year.
