Hi,
My name is Josh Schmidt and this is a five-minute grounding meditation.
Before we begin,
I'll ask that you find a quiet space where you can be uninterrupted for the next few minutes.
And when you're ready,
Just pause,
Take a breath,
And place your feet flat on the floor.
Feel your way down into the feet,
Into the contact with the ground underneath of you.
Your hands can rest on your lap.
And when you feel comfortable,
Close your eyes.
Now,
Gently bring your attention to any sounds in the space.
And as you breathe softly,
Notice if you can find a sense of relief in your body,
A sense that you can let go and let the weight of your body feel supported.
Allow your attention to sink down to your feet.
I wonder if you'll notice if one foot is heavier than the other.
And as you allow your legs to relax and your belly to move freely with the breath,
On each exhale,
You might find a little more softening,
A little more release and relief.
And how does it feel now?
To know that you are fully supported,
To allow yourself the space to unwind.
And that as you relax,
You might become more grounded.
And I wonder what that sense of grounding feels like for you.
Good.
I'd like you now to slowly bring your attention back to the room.
And when you're ready,
You can gently open your eyes.
And notice how are you feeling?
How would you like to bring this feeling into the rest of your day?
