Hi,

And welcome to your meditation in this session I have the pleasure of bringing you the breath of joy in The breath of joy practice you'll use visualization breath and even a facial expression These will all bond together to elicit a bodily response of upliftment So let's get into it Sit up a little bit taller Let your shoulders roll back heart open belly soft Relax your jaw your face and Close your eyes if that's comfortable for you Breathing easy to start Just allowing your natural breath to flow in and out of your body See if you can notice any pleasant sensations here Maybe you can feel the breeze on your cheeks or warmth of your body Maybe there's a relaxing that's happening somewhere in your body or mind I'd like you to bring to mind something or someone That you're grateful for Notice how just bringing that to mind Can already be uplifting?

For the breath of joy We aim to increase this good feeling So we'll do it together Bring your lips together like you're drinking through a straw Now as you imagine who or what you are grateful for Inhale through your pursed lips Like you could take in all the nectar all the joy Of what you are grateful for When you get to the top of your inhale Bring the corners of your lips up towards your ears as you pause with the energy of gratitude And then slowly exhale Sigh through your mouth Let's do a few more Imagine something or someone else who you are grateful for Breathe in the nectar of this good feeling through your lips Like you're drinking it through a straw Smile with it at the top of your inhale Holding your smile and this breath Your body interprets a smile Even when it's put on as positive This circumvents a mind that might be skeptical In favor of upliftment Try letting that happen And then slowly release your breath Breathe in through pursed lips Imagining you can take in all the goodness of the day And all you are grateful for Consciously or unconsciously Bringing this joyful energy into your body Holding with a smile at the top Smile and hold But relax your shoulders Release tension Just a moment longer Being with all that you are grateful for All that you are fortunate to be the recipient of All the joy All that is available here and now As you're ready Slowly sigh Release Relax Allow yourself a moment Just to be And now maybe you want to bring that Joyful smile back to your face As you're ready You can blink your eyes to open Taking in your environment With a renewed sense of gratitude And joy
