Hi,
I am Johnny John.
Today I want to talk about the journey of the soul,
The journey that you are on right now.
Deep down we all know that the purpose of life is to create greater happiness within.
This becomes apparent when we look at how our body,
Mind and spirit are designed,
Which is divinely designed for us to desire for happiness and to turn away from sadness.
In this talk I want to talk about the purpose of life from a greater perspective.
I want to talk about the soul journey and to do this we will be expanding our point of view,
Not to just view and understand our purpose in life within the time frame of this lifetime but rather to encompass all lifetimes to the beginning of time.
We are told begin so that we have a better understanding of who we are and why we're here.
The purpose of this talk is to help you understand the purpose of your existence through a higher perspective so that perhaps you can remember what you're here to do,
So that perhaps you can become more motivated to do the greater work of achieving greater happiness.
Again this talk is not based on any religion or any philosophical beliefs.
My goal here is to simply give you the clues that you can find in the present moment so that you can develop your own truth,
Your own knowing of why you are here so that you can have another perspective to see life in another light.
So let's begin.
To understand about the journey of the soul we need to first understand our relationship to the source,
The essence from which we all came from.
Some people may call it the creator or infinity.
Now how do we find the clues to this relationship?
Pick up the telephone and ask the creator?
Only if it was that simple,
Then all mysteries would be solved.
The only possible way is to approach this from a logical and intuitive stance,
And what these faculties of mind will tell us that if everything has a beginning,
That if we turn back time to the very beginnings of time,
Even to the time before time existed,
There would be this one source where we all came from,
The one creator.
Now if all came from one,
Then what is not one?
And thinking about this question we can look around and ask ourselves the question,
What is not the creator?
To the analytical mind it can be ridiculous to think that everything around us came from that one creator,
Because how can that rock be the creator,
Or that sky,
Or the land,
Or that person,
Or me?
How can we all be one when everything looks so separate and disconnected?
What if you fell asleep and had a dream,
And in that dream you are in the world that you're in right now,
And now you ask yourself the question,
What is not me?
What would your answer be?
If you are the creator of your creations,
Then what creations is not the creator?
Perhaps we are in the mind of the creator?
Again,
These are just clues for you to consider the possibilities,
For we can even know the truth until we wake up.
So let us come back to the current reality and see what other clues we can find,
To find the clues that all is the creator,
That there is only one self.
And where can we find such clues?
We would be able to find the clues within our minds,
So let us look at the nature of our minds for such clues.
The nature of the mind can be discovered by turning our senses onwards,
And observing how it behaves,
How it works,
And why it works in such a way.
That is why the practice of meditation is so powerful,
Because it allows one to discover the nature of oneself,
To develop self-knowing.
That is why I encourage everyone who wishes to be on the journey of self-discovery to take up the practice of meditation.
And the more one observes oneself within,
One will become ever more knowing that one is the mind.
Close your eyes and you will realize that you are the mind.
Even when we open our eyes and experience the world outside,
We are just experiencing the mind.
So everything we do in the world,
We are simply experiencing the mind.
Let's dwell on this thought for a second.
If we really think about it,
Everything we do,
We are experiencing ourselves.
Everyone we talk to,
We are experiencing ourselves.
Everything that we see,
Touch,
And hear in the world outside,
We are actually experiencing ourselves.
These are just some thoughts to ponder.
Let's try another way of thinking about this.
Through the mind,
One can experience infinite possibilities of the self.
So if you close your eyes,
You can imagine yourself to be a bird,
A plane,
A mountain.
You can even imagine yourself as the fluffy clouds.
So what I want to say is,
If the mind is of infinite possibilities,
Then what is not you?
Is it possible that we are everything that is around us?
This thought can sound ridiculous as soon as we open our eyes,
Because everything appears so separate,
Unique,
Disconnected.
So without the practice of meditation,
Of turning our senses onwards,
One can find it difficult to accept even the slightest possibility that all is one,
And one is all,
That there is only one self.
But your mind actually already knows that there is only one self.
In my experiences of studying the mind,
I have found that the deeper mind actually believes that there is only one self,
And when we reject that truth,
We will experience confusion and unhappiness.
For instance,
When we reject a person and experience an object,
An idea,
We will experience suffering,
Because to reject anything in life,
To the deeper mind,
It's like pointing at parts of you in the mirror,
And declaring that it is not a part of you.
Maybe that is why self-rejection is the cause for all suffering states of the mind,
Because we are distorting the truth that all is one,
When we are in a state of rejection,
And the experience of that distortion is the state of suffering,
From which all negativities of the mind is born,
Fears,
Anger,
Judgment,
Unhappiness.
And realizing this,
We realize that the key to happiness in life is to develop self-acceptance,
To accept all there is,
Ourselves,
Others,
And the world.
And to develop self-acceptance is to develop self-knowing that all is one.
The reality is,
When we align ourselves with the state of mind,
Happiness and wisdom blossoms.
So as the only oneself,
The analytical mind would say no,
But the deeper mind would resonate strongly with that idea,
Because to the deeper mind,
That is the truth.
Now one can say that self-acceptance and self-knowing are the same thing,
Because as we become ever knowing of the truth that all is one,
Then self-acceptance will naturally be developed,
Allowing us to accept that person who has once angered us,
To accept that situation that has once made us fearful,
To finally see our reflection and all the creation of this world.
Perhaps that is the purpose of the soul journey,
Because in desiring for happiness,
We will ultimately have to develop the self-knowing of who we are,
That there is only one self,
The Creator.
So that is the soul journey.
From a higher perspective,
We are the Creator who wishes to know itself,
And that desire to know itself lies deep within ourselves,
To know ourselves more,
To know who we are.
And the more we develop the self-knowing,
We will come to know that all is one,
And one is all.
This truth the ancients knew too well.
That is why it's important to know thyself,
To know the self.
This self-knowing will change your life in many ways,
Because the more you know,
The more you will be able to accept all the errors,
To accept your neighbors,
To accept the strangers,
To accept all situations that happens in life,
To accept that everything is one,
That there is no separation,
That there is only one self.
The practice of meditation will promote such self-knowing,
For within all of us contain the spark of the infinite and wise Creator.
Meditate and let the inner wisdom take you on a journey towards greater self-knowing,
Greater self-acceptance,
Greater happiness.
