Welcome.
This is a guided meditation for a refreshing start to your day.
Take a moment to get comfortable by finding a seat or you may continue lying down if you're just waking up and close your eyes.
Take a deep inhale in,
Exhale sighing it out.
Big inhale and sigh it out.
One more deep inhale and let it all go.
Good.
It's the next day and you're already feeling the dread of that rush hour traffic or perhaps it's that dreaded morning meeting or maybe even the dread of running into a certain supervisor or co-worker.
Whether you stub your toe or you just had a big argument with your loved one,
You can still determine that nothing and no one can bring you down today.
Pain is inevitable but you can choose whether or not to suffer or dwell in it.
No matter the roadblocks you anticipate you'll be facing today,
This is your opportunity to decide to have a good day.
Take a big breath in and sigh it out.
Imagine for a moment that you've awakened to a beautiful bright and sunny day.
It's not too warm,
Not too cold.
There's a soft gentle breeze and the weather is perfect.
So you decide to take a walk through the scenic park nearby.
Excitement slowly starts to build within you as you notice that there's a new big beautiful fountain in the distance.
You begin to realize just how rewarding it will be to take a seat behind this fountain and have a beautiful and meditative moment.
Looking forward to this peaceful moment brings you a deep feeling of joy.
As you stroll towards this beautiful fountain,
Every so often something happens that interrupts your joy.
A person riding a bicycle zooms across you almost knocking you down.
Another person passes by yelling at someone else over the phone.
Yet another person stops you and asks for directions.
And each time your joy is interrupted,
Yet each time you continue forward and gradually that lost joy is refilled because you have chosen in each moment to take a deep breath,
Let it go and redirect your focus back to the fountain.
You continue your stroll,
Getting closer and closer to the fountain.
Joy building up inside you again and again.
Finally,
You make it to the fountain.
It's much bigger than you realized up close.
You relish in absolute awe as you take in its beauty.
It's wonderfully decorated with angels and other adornments.
And the water is spraying from multiple directions.
You think to yourself,
How lovely it is that you get to enjoy such a delight.
And you are ready to sit down and enjoy this experience a while longer.
You find a great spot next to a shady tree where you can sit and meditation.
But as you inch closer towards it,
Someone cuts in front of you and grabs it,
Not even realizing that you were heading straight for that spot.
Now normally this would infuriate you.
But yet again,
You decide to take a deep breath,
Let it go and redirect your focus back to the fountain.
The sun dips behind a large cloud for a brief moment.
And as it reappears,
It illuminates a new seat for you.
And you waste no time at all and quickly snatch up that seat.
Joy.
You sit here for a while,
Finding absolute comfort,
Pure relaxation and soothing peace.
Take a big breath in and sigh it out.
As it was in this visualization,
So it is in life.
Obstacles and challenges come up from time to time.
You can always find your way back to peace.
Not by giving into the challenges,
Not by giving up,
Not by allowing yourself to become upset,
But by choosing to take a deep breath,
Letting it go and redirecting your focus back to the peace you desire.
I hope this meditation reminds you that you are in control of your joy and peace,
That all you have to do is continue to choose it and you will reap the rewards.
So take a deep breath,
Let it go and have a wonderful day.
