Transcript

Find a place where you can sit or stand comfortably.

If possible,

Close your eyes or soften your gaze.

Take a deep breath in through your nose and exhale slowly through your mouth.

Begin by noticing your breath.

Inhale deeply for a count of four.

Hold for two and exhale for six.

Feel the air move through you.

Notice where your body feels tense.

Maybe your shoulders,

Jaw or chest.

Don't try to force the tension away,

Just observe it,

Like clouds passing in the sky.

As you breathe,

Silently say to yourself,

I am the pilot,

Not the turbulence.

Picture yourself in the cockpit of a plane,

Steady at the controls,

Even as the winds shake the aircraft.

The turbulence,

Stress,

Frustration,

Overwhelm is outside you.

You are the pilot,

Calm and in command.

Bring to mind the situation causing you stress.

Maybe it's a heated conversation,

A crying child or a looming deadline.

See it clearly,

But remind yourself,

This is the turbulence,

Not you.

In stoic wisdom,

We cannot control external events,

Only our response.

As you inhale,

Acknowledge the challenge,

This is turbulence.

As you exhale,

Affirm,

I am the pilot,

Not the turbulence.

Feel the separation between the chaos and your inner calm.

You are not the storm,

You are the one steering through it.

Focus on what you can control,

Your breath,

Your thoughts,

Your actions.

Let go of trying to fix the external chaos in this moment.

Instead,

Feel your feet on the ground,

Your hands resting,

Your breath steadying.

Each breath is a choice to stay centered.

Repeat the mantra aloud or in your mind,

I am the pilot,

Not the turbulence.

Imagine adjusting the controls of your plane with precision.

The turbulence may shake you,

But it cannot take your ability to choose calm,

To choose clarity.

Picture your plane rising above the storm clouds.

From this higher vantage point,

The turbulence below looks smaller,

Less overwhelming.

In this moment,

You are bigger than the stress,

You are the pilot capable of navigating any storm.

If thoughts of the stressful situation arise,

Maybe a partner's words,

A child's tantrum,

Or a work pressure,

Gently bring your focus back to the mantra,

I am the pilot,

Not the turbulence.

Each repetition strengthens your resolve,

Like a steady hand on the controls.

As we near the end,

Take three deep breaths.

Inhale strength,

Exhale doubt,

Inhale clarity,

Exhale chaos,

Inhale courage,

Exhale fear.

You are the pilot,

And you are ready to face the turbulence with a steady heart.

Carry this mantra with you,

I am the pilot,

Not the turbulence.

Say it silently as you open your eyes.

As you step back into the moment,

You don't need to solve everything now,

You just need to steer with calm and purpose.

Gently wiggle your fingers and toes,

Take one final deep breath,

And when you're ready,

Open your eyes or lift your gaze,

You are the pilot,

You've got this.
