My name is Jonah,
And this is a meditation about acknowledging who you are.
So choose your position,
Whether that's upright or reclined,
With the eyes open or the eyes closed.
And begin to allow your body to rest.
Bring your awareness down into your feet.
And without moving your feet to create sensation,
Simply notice your two feet.
And silently say to yourself,
This is me.
And then begin to feel gratitude for your feet.
The way they support you through your life,
And all the many places your feet take you.
Keeping your body still and at rest,
Allow your attention to move up into your legs.
And silently say to yourself,
This is me.
Send your legs some gratitude and thanks for their support,
Their strength,
And their power.
As if in this moment,
You could say thank you to your legs.
Keep your body still,
And if your attention drifts to another place in your body or to thought,
Simply come back to this place that we're focusing on.
And begin again with,
This is me.
Move your attention up into your torso,
And silently say to yourself,
This is me.
And sense gratitude for your beating heart,
Your breathing lungs,
And your sprung spine.
Become aware of your arms and your hands,
And silently say to yourself,
This is me.
Sense gratitude and thanks for your fingers and your arms.
As if you could say thank you to your arms and your hands.
Begin to draw your attention up into your face,
And silently say to yourself,
This is me.
Send your nose,
Your eyes,
Your ears,
Tremendous gratitude for all they help you sense,
Feel,
And experience in life.
And as you continue to rest here,
Taking this time that is just for you,
Silently say to yourself,
This is me.
And send gratitude to your entire body,
Thankful for this body for helping you experience life.
And then if you will,
Slowly begin to move your fingers,
Your wrists,
Your toes,
Your ankles,
Maybe even your elbows,
Your shoulders,
Your knees,
And perhaps your hips.
And see if you can begin to deepen and lengthen your breathing.
And with gratitude in your body and in your heart,
Silently say to yourself,
This is me.
And as you move into the rest of your day,
I hope you feel refueled with this me time you've just given yourself.
