If you will,
Find a comfortable seat or you could stand or recline for this meditation.
And once you've made that choice,
Also decide if you'd like to leave the eyes softly open or if you would like to close.
And as we begin,
I'll invite you to breathe deeply into your lungs,
Noticing this felt sense of expansion with every breath in.
And this felt sense of release with every breath out.
And consider slowing your breath down to a pace that feels both gentle and calming to you.
And as you continue with this gentleness and this calming sense,
See if you can begin to lengthen your inhale to match your exhale.
And maybe you feel compelled to attach a count to the length of your exhalation.
And see if you can mirror that same length for the inhale.
And when you finish your next exhalation,
Allow your breathing to return to its natural pace.
Gentle and calming.
And as you return to your natural pacing of breathing,
Notice your body's movements,
Subtle or obvious,
As you continue to breathe.
Invite every breath to become brighter and more brilliant,
And maybe even inspiring as the body breathes.
Allowing your out breath to be the space for releasing and letting go.
And your in breath to be a space for inspiration,
Creativity,
Compassion.
Each and every breath is this dance of taking something in and letting something go.
What a great reminder the inhale is for taking what we need.
And what a great reminder the exhale is for releasing what's no longer serving us.
Taking in and letting go.
Within this container,
Within this space of inspiration,
Creativity,
And compassion.
Taking in and releasing.
Taking in and letting go.
And now I'll invite you,
If you close your eyes,
To softly just start to become aware of the space around you again.
And give yourself the invitation to take what you need and leave what you don't.
And perhaps see if you can continue to let this play between taking in and letting go guide you through the rest of your day.
Peace.
