Welcome to partner yoga.
For this class,
Pierre will be partner A and I will be partner B.
So with your partner,
Choose who will be A and B.
When you're ready,
Come to sit back to back with your partner.
Find a comfortable cross-legged seat.
Rest your hands down on your thighs and close your eyes.
Take this moment to tune into your breath.
And begin to feel into your partners as well.
Feeling appreciation for each other's presence.
Continue to relax your body,
Soften your shoulders and take 3 more breaths here.
Gently blink your eyes open.
And with your next inhale,
Reach your arms out wide.
And up overhead.
Lengthen through the sides of your body.
The spine.
And exhale place your right hand down and reach your left arm up and over for left side body stretch Take three deep breaths here.
Inhale to lift yourself back up.
And exhale place your left hand down reach your right arm up and over breathing into the right side body Inhale to come back through center.
Reach both arms up overhead,
Lengthen through your spine.
And exhale twist to the right your right hand will come to your partner's left knee and your left hand will come to your right knee Inhale,
Lengthen through the crown of your head.
And exhale,
Relax into your twist.
Inhale,
Come back through center,
Reach your arms up overhead.
And exhale,
Twist to the left.
Left hand will come to your partner's right knee.
Your right hand will come to your left knee.
Three breaths here.
Inhale to come back through center.
Reach your arms up,
Palms touch overhead.
And exhale,
Release your hands down to heart center.
We'll move into butterfly pose next.
Bring the soles of your feet together and let your knees fall out wide.
Bring your feet closer in for a deeper stretch,
Further away for a more gentle stretch.
Partner A will bring hands to ankles and slowly lean forward into the hip opening stretch.
Partner B will gently lean back Lifting the heart,
Hands can rest on the legs.
Make sure you're communicating with each other in each pose,
Just letting your partner know if you want more or less of a stretch here.
And then allow yourself to relax.
Come back to your breath.
With your next inhale gently begin to come all the way up to a tall spine.
Partner B will bring hands to ankles and as you fold forward,
Partner A will lean back.
With your next inhale,
Together gently lift yourselves back up.
Draw your knees together,
Band your hands and transition into a seat facing each other.
Coming into a cross-legged seat.
Leaving some space in between each other.
Root down through your sick bones and grab a hold of each other's forearms.
Will move through seeded cat-cows together.
Inhale through the spine.
And as you exhale,
Round through your back.
Bring your chin to your chest.
Breathing into your mid-back.
Hold here.
Feel the shoulder blades draw apart.
Take one more breath.
Inhale to lift your gaze,
Pull your heart space forward.
Broaden through your collarbones.
And take one more breath here.
As you exhale round through the spine bring your chin to your chest Hold here,
Taking two more breaths.
Inhale to lift the heart.
Come into your cow pose and exhale to round back into cat.
Inhale pull the heart forward lift your gaze and exhale to release.
From here scoot yourselves closer together bringing the knees to lightly touch coming into a spinal twist.
Bring your right arm around your lower back.
Fingertips resting on the left leg.
Reach your left arm across your body reaching for your partner's right fingertips.
Turn to the right,
Gaze over your right shoulders and breathe into your twist.
Gently release,
Turn to face forward and switch sides.
Left arm wraps around the lower back.
Right arm reaches for your partner's fingertips.
Twist to the left,
Keep a tall spine and breathe.
Slowly release.
Turn to face forward and begin to scoot yourselves further away.
Bend your knees.
And bring your toes together to touch.
We come into a seated forward fold,
Beginning with partner A.
So partner A will extend their legs long.
Partner B is going to assist with a stretch.
Grab a hold of each other's hands and as partner A folds forward partner B is going to gently pull partner A deeper into the stretch.
An ache and bend their knees,
Relax their head,
And partner B can lean back.
Don't forget to communicate with each other and breathe.
Inhale.
Gently come back to center and this time we'll switch Partner A will bend their legs and partner B will extend theirs.
Grab a hold of each other's hands and as partner B leans forward,
Partner A will assist in the stretch.
Take one more breath here.
And with your next inhale,
Gently lift yourself up and come back to center.
We move into boat pose stretch.
Together you'll bend your knees.
Bring your toes together.
Grab a hold of each other's hands.
And slowly begin to lift your left feet up pressing the soles of your feet together Find your balance.
And lift your right leg up.
Legs can be bent or straight.
Relax your head down and breathe into the stretch.
Take one more breath here.
And exhale to release your feet back down.
We move into a wide legged forward fold.
Bring your legs out,
It's why it is comfortable.
Bringing the soles of your feet together.
Moving into a side body stretch to begin with.
Reach your right arms for each other,
Grabbing a hold of your forearms.
And then reach your left arm up and over.
Breathing into the left side body.
Take one more breath Inhale together,
Come all the way back up.
Straightening through the spine.
Left arms will reach for each other.
Inhale the right arm up and over.
Exhale to side bend.
On your next inhale.
Gently lift yourselves all the way back up.
Release your hands to the ground and draw your legs together into a cross-legged seat.
Scoot close together,
Rest your hands down and close your eyes.
Take a few breaths here.
Just begin to observe how you feel.
And tune into a deep feeling of gratitude for the person in front of you.
And gratitude for yourselves for taking this time together to connect.
Take one final breath here.
And gently blink your eyes open.
Inhale to reach your arms up.
Palms touch.
And exhale hands to heart center Ending this class with loving appreciation.
