Welcome to our Oceanside Meditation,
Bringing the ocean and the sounds to you as best I can.
We're just using the ocean as a visual as you start to get comfortable.
Putting your body into whatever position makes it feel its most at ease and its most relaxed.
We'll start by taking a long,
Slow,
Deep breath in and then gently letting that go.
Let's do another long,
Slow,
Deep breath in and gently let that go.
Using that visual of the ocean,
That's how we're going to allow our thoughts,
Which are going to pop into our mind,
To also leave our minds.
The practice of meditation,
We can't stop our thoughts,
But we try to train them,
Try to control them.
And even though those two words sound harsh,
We're really just allowing them to enter and exit like the tide coming in and the tide going out,
Or the waves coming in and the waves going out.
So whenever a thought comes in,
I want you to allow it to just recede back like those waves as you allow your body to get into a great state of relaxation,
Just allowing it to settle into whatever position you've chosen.
Today we're going to focus on letting go of those guilt pieces that you can feel.
You know the ones that come in when you think so continually about the things that you should have done or could have done better or different.
And we can hold onto it so fiercely sometimes,
Can't we?
Staying in our past thoughts,
Thinking about what could have changed,
What would be different,
How could I feel better if only what had happened hadn't happened in the way that it happened?
But it doesn't serve us to sit in that space.
It serves us to sit in the present moment.
So what could happen,
Should happen,
It doesn't matter anymore.
I know that's easier said than done when you lay there thinking of this.
But sit in truth for a moment.
Does it really serve you?
We can't change what has already happened.
We can only change our current moment and how we choose to move forward.
So as you breathe in,
I wanted you to bring in some forgiveness for yourself.
And as you breathe out,
Letting go of that guilt.
Breathing in acceptance you did your best you could.
Letting out those negative feelings that no longer serve us.
Focusing on that breathing now,
On the in the out,
The rise and the fall of your chest and your belly.
Just allowing your body to feel relaxed.
And know that today is a new day.
