If you feel exhausted but can't fully rest,
Or tired but somehow still on edge,
Well you're in good company.
This wired but tired feeling is really common in menopause.
So let's take a few minutes to help your nervous system sort things out.
You don't need to relax,
You don't need to energize,
We're creating a little clarity.
So start by noticing your body exactly as it is right now.
There might be heaviness,
Maybe restlessness,
Or possibly even both at the same time.
Simply notice.
Now bring your attention to the places in your body that feel most tired.
Your eyes,
Your shoulders,
Your legs.
Let yourself acknowledge that fatigue without pushing through it or judging it.
Now notice if there are places that feel alert,
Tense,
Or maybe even a slight buzzing feeling.
It could be your chest,
Your jaw,
Or your thoughts.
This is the wired part.
Instead of trying to change either one,
See if you can let both exist at the same time.
Tired and alert,
Heavy and tense.
Nothing needs to be fixed right now.
Allow your breath to be natural.
No need to slow it down or deepen it.
Simply notice that it's moving.
And as you breathe,
Imagine giving your nervous system permission to sort things out in its own time.
You don't have to do the sorting.
Now gently bring your attention to something steady.
It could be the feeling of your feet,
The surface beneath you,
Or maybe it's the weight of your body being supported.
When the body feels confused,
Steadiness helps it reset.
Take one easy breath in,
And let it go.
If your mind jumps in with thoughts like,
I should feel different,
Or I should have more energy,
Just notice that and come back to your body.
This moment doesn't require effort.
It requires allowance.
Stay here for a few more breaths,
Letting tiredness soften where it can,
And alertness settle where it wants to.
Your nervous system knows how to find balance.
Sometimes it just needs space to do it.
When you're ready,
Gently bring your awareness back to your surroundings.
You don't need to feel refreshed.
You don't need to feel calm.
If you feel even a little more settled or clear,
That's enough.
You can return to this any time your body feels mixed up or out of sync.
