Welcome beautiful souls.
Find a comfortable position.
Either seated or lying down.
And allow your hands to rest softly.
Gently close your eyes if that feels right for you.
And take a slow breath in through your nose.
And a long breath out.
Again,
Breathing in.
And breathing out.
One more time in.
And out.
Now just allow your breathing to settle into its own natural rhythm.
There is no way to go.
And nothing to do for the next little while.
Just simply be here.
Bring your awareness to the feeling of your body supported beneath you.
Notice the weight of your body.
Notice the points of contact.
Feel the gentle rise and fall of your chest as you breathe.
The soft expansion of your belly.
The steady rhythm that has been with you your entire life.
And as you breathe,
Imagine yourself resting in a peaceful meadow.
Beneath a vast blue sky.
The air is calm.
Earth is warm beneath you.
And above you stretches an endless expanse of sky.
Open Clear.
Infinite.
The sky is your awareness.
Spacious and boundless.
And across this beautiful sky drifts clouds.
And these clouds are your thoughts.
Perhaps a thought appears.
Maybe it's something from yesterday.
Conversation.
A memory.
Plan.
A worry,
A question?
Just notice it gently.
Without judgment.
Without needing to change it.
And simply see it as a cloud appearing in the sky.
You do not need to push it away.
You do not need to hold on to it.
Just watch.
The cloud drifts,
Moving,
Changing shape,
Passing.
And then soon another thought arrives.
And perhaps about something you need to do later.
Perhaps something completely random.
Perhaps a feeling disguised as a thought.
See this one too,
As a cloud.
Floating across the vastness of your awareness.
And notice how clouds never stay still forever.
And thoughts do not either.
Even those thoughts that feel important.
Even the thoughts that demand attention.
Even the thoughts that tell dramatic stories,
Eventually.
They drift off.
Now spend a few moments just simply observing.
When a thought arrives,
Silently say,
Cloud.
And then watch it float by.
Cloud.
Passing.
Cloud.
Moving.
Cloud.
Drifting.
Clown.
Changing.
Cloud.
And behind every cloud remains the same endless sky.
The Observer.
The awareness,
That presence noticing it all.
And as you continue breathing,
Imagine the clouds becoming more visible.
Some are fluffy and white.
Some are gray.
Some are large.
Some are small.
Injustice thoughts come in many forms.
Happy thoughts,
Sad thoughts,
Creative thoughts.
Anxious thoughts.
Excited thoughts.
Ordinary thoughts.
Each one simply a visitor passing through.
And notice that the sky never argues with a cloud.
The sky never chases a cloud.
The sky never says,
You shouldn't be here.
It simply allows.
And the cloud moves naturally on.
Can you offer your thoughts the same gentle acceptance?
Nothing to fix.
Nothing to resist.
Nothing to hold.
Simply allowing.
Perhaps now a thought arrives that feels heavier.
A worry.
Fear.
A self-judgment?
Something that tugs at your attention.
Notice its shape.
It's texture.
It's movement.
And instead of becoming the cloud,
Remain the sky.
The cloud may be dark.
But I cannot stain the sky.
The cloud may be loud.
But it cannot diminish the vastness of the sky.
The cloud may linger.
But it cannot stay forever.
Watch it.
Allow it.
Let it drift at its own pace.
You are larger than any thought that passes through you.
Now imagine a gentle breeze moving across the meadow.
And this breeze is your breath.
Each inhale creates space.
Each exhale invites release.
And as the breeze moves,
Clouds continue their journey.
Thoughts come.
Thoughts go.
Nothing is stuck.
Nothing is permanent.
Breathing in.
Clouds drifting Breathing out.
Clouds passing.
Breathing in.
Space opening.
Breathing out.
Freedom expanding.
And for the next few moments,
Just simply rest in this image.
The sky above.
The meadow below.
The clouds moving naturally across the horizon.
Notice any thoughts.
Notice any feelings.
Notice any sensations.
And allow everything to be exactly as it is.
Thoughts drifting Thoughts passing.
Awareness remaining.
And you may begin to notice moments between thoughts.
Tiny spaces.
Brief openings.
Just like patches of clear blue sky.
And rest there when they appear.
No effort.
No striving.
Just resting in the openness.
The peaceful stillness that has always been here.
The stillness between every thought.
The stillness beneath every story.
Stillness beneath every cloud.
Now imagine the afternoon sun shining softly through the clouds.
It's warm,
It's golden,
It's gentle.
And this light represents wisdom.
Compassion.
Presence.
And no matter how many clouds fill the sky.
The sky remains.
And no matter how busy the mind becomes,
Your deeper peace remains,
Always present.
Always available.
Just waiting quietly beneath the movement of thought.
And as we begin to close this meditation.
Return your awareness to your breath.
Notice the inhale.
Notice the exhale.
Notice the feeling of your body resting here.
Feel the support beneath you.
Air around you.
The room you are in.
And remember the simple truth.
Their thoughts are like clouds.
Moving,
Drifting.
Passing.
And you do not have to follow every cloud.
You do not have to believe every cloud.
You do not have to hold on to every cloud.
You can simply watch.
And remain the vast,
Beautiful sky.
And take a deep breath in.
And slowly breathe out.
Wiggle your fingers.
Wiggle your toes and when you are ready gently open your eyes.
Carry this spaciousness with you throughout the rest of your day.
