Condor (full-length version) is a complete, unedited improvisation. The planet Mars, in the lore of Native American tribes, is viewed as the "Eye of the Condor," and was believed to have a powerful influence on the peoples of Earth. Performed on a traditional cedar flute in E minor, Condor expresses the sense peace one feels watching a California condor soaring in the desert sky. It was recorded "live" inside the Mt. Wilson Observatory, using only the natural acoustics of the telescope dome.
