Hello and welcome.
Today's meditation is about finding your inner truth,
Your inner knowing.
So before we begin,
I invite you to find a comfortable place to sit.
And just see if there's anything you can do,
Any adjustments you can make to get even more comfortable.
And notice if you can create a space in which your body can fully relax and feel held.
So you don't have to effort.
And start by bringing your attention and your awareness to your breathing.
And so you're bringing your focus from your mind and all of the swirling thoughts that might be present down into the felt sense of your body.
And you can do that just by noticing your breath.
Start to become aware of the quality of your breath.
Notice if it moves easily today or if it feels a little sticky or shallow.
Notice if it lands just in your lungs or if it feels like it expands down into your belly deeper in your torso.
What is the experience of your breath today as felt in your body?
And as you notice,
Just kind of check in and see if there's room or space there to make your breath a little deeper or maybe lengthen the inhale and the exhale.
Lengthening and deepening your breath helps to calm your nervous system.
And your nervous system informs the quality of your thoughts.
So as you calm your nervous system,
You start to calm your thoughts as well.
So just breathing.
And now think of a time in your life when you knew something for sure to be true.
Think of a time when this knowing that you had was visceral,
So you knew it in your body.
And this experience might have happened outside of the constructs of rational or logical thought as if you can't quite explain it.
You just knew.
Maybe you can recall one time or maybe there are many.
But as you recall that time,
Explore how or where in your body that you knew.
What was this knowing?
How did it show up as a sensation?
Where did it live in your body?
What was this language that your body was speaking around that knowing?
Recalling the time and noticing if that is showing up for you right now,
Where in your body does this knowing live?
And what does it feel like?
That sensation is there.
And are there similarities between this specific situation that you've brought to mind and maybe another situation that was similar when you just knew?
Was the felt sense or the language in your body similar?
And maybe right now this language feels quiet,
Slight or subtle.
Or maybe you don't feel it yet at all.
And both of those things are normal and okay.
It takes practice to learn the language of felt sense of our body and our inner knowing.
And whether you felt something arise for you or not,
I invite you to place one hand on your belly and one on your heart.
Or if it feels better,
Place your hands on the area of your body where you felt the knowing.
And just quietly to yourself offer a thank you.
Thank you for guiding me.
Thank you for this connection.
Thank you for your wisdom.
Thank you for always leading the way even when I might forget to listen.
And as we come to a close of this meditation,
Just notice if there are any parts of it that you can take with you throughout your day that may be stuck with you or resonated.
Take the parts that you need and leave the rest.
I invite you to start to move a little bit.
Maybe grab a drink of water.
And have a wonderful day.
