Hi,
My name is Jessie,
And as a straight up legitimate control freak,
I know a thing about trying to let go of control.
So we're just going to dive right in,
And we're going to find a comfortable seated position,
And we are going to close our eyes.
Just check in with your body,
And we're going to make a commitment to be still throughout this entire meditation process.
If you have an itch on your nose,
Let it go.
Just stay with the breath.
Exhale through the nose,
And exhale through the nose.
With our eyes closed,
We're going to observe any sensations that are going on within our body,
Any internal sensations.
Just doing a quick little body scan without labeling them or judging them,
Just observing our head,
Observing our chest,
Our arms and our hands,
Observing our abdomen,
Our back,
Our hips,
Our legs,
And our feet.
Good job.
Now we are going to observe anything that's going on externally,
Anything outside of our head,
Outside of our body,
Noticing the sounds in the room,
The sounds outside.
If there's something that's irritating you,
Let it go.
We're going to work on releasing,
Releasing our need to control things,
Our need to control our surroundings,
To control our lives.
Things are typically out of our control,
So this is a really good practice.
Surrendering to the present moment.
We're going to think about all of our ties,
Our ties to our family.
Let it go.
There's nothing you need to do right now other than be right here in this present moment.
There's nowhere you need to be.
We're going to let go of work.
Any projects that you're working on,
Let it go.
Surrender.
Perhaps do it on an exhale.
Just feel yourself release.
We're going to let go of our friends,
Trying to please them,
Trying to be there for them,
So that they'll in turn be there for us.
Let that go.
We're going to release our homes,
Our transportation.
Let it go.
It'll be there when you're done,
I assure you.
Letting go of our plans,
Anything you need to do.
It can wait.
Let it go on the exhale.
Surrender into this present moment.
Good job.
Let go of your past.
Just drop all that baggage right here right now.
If there's any thoughts or emotions that come up,
Let those go.
Surrender fully and completely into this present moment.
During your breath,
Move in through the nose and out through the nose.
Using your breath as an anchor.
Releasing.
Releasing any conceptions that you have.
Any ideas of who you are.
Let that go.
There's nothing you need to do right now.
There's nowhere you need to go.
This is all that there is right now in this present moment.
This is reality.
This is all that there is.
Feel yourself letting go of any tension.
On your next breath,
Just inhale.
Exhale any tension in your jaw.
Releasing your tongue.
Exhaling any tension in your shoulders.
In your arms.
Your hands.
Your chest and your abdomen.
Your back.
The hips.
The legs and the feet.
Just release it.
Let it go.
Give up the control just for a moment.
Surrender.
There's nothing else you need to do.
There's nowhere else you need to be.
Allowing yourself to release into this present moment.
Not worrying about letting go.
Any of the connotations of that.
Sometimes it makes us grip on to control even more.
Surrender with each exhale.
If any thoughts or feelings come up,
That's fine.
Let those go.
They don't matter right now.
Surrender into the stillness.
Notice how expansive this present moment is.
Are you finding a natural joy,
A natural peace?
This is our natural state of being.
Just sit with it.
There's nothing to do.
There's nowhere to go.
You don't have to be anybody.
You don't have to be anything.
All you have to do is exist.
It's natural for thoughts to arise.
It's natural for emotions to come up.
Just observe it.
And then let that go.
Releasing into the stillness.
Just surrender.
Surrendering into this.
Don't try to control this experience.
Don't try to make this into something more than it is.
We're not trying to obtain some sort of meditative experience.
Just existing.
We're just sitting here.
Releasing any tension you may be hanging on to with the next exhale.
Start fighting.
Just releasing.
Releasing anything that you're holding on to.
Surrendering into this experience.
This is all that there is.
There's nothing else to obtain.
There's nowhere to go and there's nothing to do.
Allow yourself to enjoy this moment.
No strings attached.
Taking a few more moments to surrender into the stillness.
Now slowly start to come back.
Wiggle your fingers,
Wiggle your toes.
Scratch that itch if you need to.
Slowly open your eyes.
How do you feel now?
Meditation isn't as difficult as we perceive it to be.
Thank you so much for joining me today.
