Aho and welcome.
This is a brief overview of shamanic journeying.
Journeying is a sister to guided meditation.
Shamanic journeying is a centuries-old practice used in indigenous cultures worldwide.
In many shamanic traditions,
There are three worldsโthe lower world,
The middle world,
And the upper world.
The lower world is not considered a lower vibration,
Just a different realm.
It has been used for hundreds,
If not thousands,
Of years for things like finding a power animal and soul retrievals.
The tradition you will be experiencing with me is from the Kero tradition of the high mountain Andes in South America.
The middle world is here,
Where we are right now,
The land of humans,
The physical realm.
Journeying takes place in the middle world as well,
In many formsโwhen healers do remote work,
Or when we daydream,
To name a couple.
The upper world is not considered to be better than the other two worlds,
And is experienced by many as more etheric.
The upper world is often used for connecting to angels,
Guides,
Ancestors,
The star people,
And our lineage.
In the Kero tradition,
It has five levels.
The first level is the mineral kingdom,
The second level is the plant kingdom,
The third level is the animal kingdom,
The fourth level is the level of whales and dolphins.
This level is where souls who are ready to incarnate once again are preparing for their journey back to the middle world.
And the fifth level is where we do most of our upper world journeying.
This level has an earth-like landscape,
And a beautiful etheric,
Crystalline city is often seen when we first enter this level.
It is common to visit the upper world to connect and receive guidance with help and questions,
Challenges,
And healing.
You may journey to spend time in any of the levels of the upper world.
If there is a plant spirit you wish to connect and work with,
You may want to start by journeying to the second level.
If you have a stone or mineral that you resonate with and would like to connect more deeply with,
You may journey to the first level to do so.
It is common for there to be some sort of water feature in between the worlds.
The significance of this is to cleanse us in between the worlds.
Many traditions have gatekeepers who oversee the doorways between the worlds.
The gatekeepers you will be meeting in my guided journeys are from the Kiero tradition.
Wasghar is their gatekeeper for the lower world.
He is a famous figure in the lore of the Inca.
Quetzalcoatl is their gatekeeper for the middle world.
He is often seen as a winged serpent,
A mythical creature in Mesoamerican cultures.
The keeper of the upper world is Pachacuti,
Who was a revered king in Incan culture.
We should always try to have sacred space open when we journey.
It is customary to also have an intention for each journey and to state protections for ourselves before we embark upon a journey.
Drumming or rattling is used as a background for shamanic journeying.
It has long been believed that it helps us enter a trance state.
This is our gateway to the other realms,
Our doorway to the spirit world.
When listening to a guided journey,
The spaceholder will help you create a landscape,
A framework for you to follow.
If you journey on your own later,
Let this framework develop in ways that resonate with you.
It's okay to let your experience evolve as you become more familiar with your movement through the worlds.
When we journey,
It is important to be open,
Observant of everything we are experiencing.
You want to let yourself connect fully with your imagination.
Do not try to turn it off.
It is how our inner experiences are brought to us.
So trust what you are getting.
Let the spirit world speak to you through this pathway.
It is often helpful to journal after completing a journey.
As with dream time,
We often lose details and clarity later.
Journaling soon afterward helps us remember everything we experienced.
Thank you for joining me,
And welcome to the wonderful world of shamanic journeying.
Aho!
