Hi,
I'm Jenny Mayo,
And welcome to this short meditation for re nourishing ourselves.
I invite you to find a comfortable position for your body seated or lying down.
And close the eyes if you like.
Just give yourself a moment here to land and arrive on this breath.
This moment,
This spot of earth turning to really notice your breath.
Watching closely as you inhale deep into the belly and allow the breath to gently move out.
As we think about the word nourishment,
So often the first thing that comes to mind is food or drink.
The ways that we're literally fueling our body.
So often we're forgetting about this most basic form of nourishment,
Our breath.
So starting to feel now your breath,
Renewing,
Restoring,
Re-sparking all of your cells,
Just warming you from your core throughout your torso,
The crown of your head,
All the way down all the way down your arms and the length of your legs all the way to your feet.
Stay here for just a few more nourishing breaths.
Working through some visualization now.
So when we visualize vividly,
We're firing the same neurons using the same neurotransmitters that we would use where we experiencing things in our external lives.
By doing this over time,
We can start to create new and more desirable pathways in our brain.
So starting to create a pathway to more nourishment and restoration,
Invite you to call to mind now what it feels like when you're in a place that is deeply nourishing to you.
Maybe you start to picture it in your mind's eye,
Maybe your other senses enlighten.
Feeling the nourishment that this place cultivates deep within you,
Breathing it in with each breath.
Maybe imagining in this place that nourishes you so deeply,
What kind of fuels might further nourish you,
Whether this is food,
Or drink,
Music,
People,
What would be most nourishing to you in this moment in this place in your mind's eye.
In this nourishing place with whatever most nourishes you filled with your most nourishing breath.
Just taking this one step deeper,
Asking yourself how you feel when you are totally and completely nourished and restored.
Maybe there's a time you recall feeling this way.
Just letting yourselves remember if so,
Not allowing yourself to imagine so vividly what that would feel like.
What does it feel like to be fully nourished and restored?
Just letting yourself breathe in these feelings for a few more deep breaths.
Feeling it spread all throughout you head to toe.
Just asking yourself,
What is one small thing,
Totally doable action item you can take in coming days to keep cultivating this nourishment?
Maybe it's just one small thing for five minutes tomorrow or the next day.
Breathing into what it would feel like to have already done that.
To this commitment to cultivating your own nourishment and to restoring your reserves.
Just letting yourself breathe in these feelings for a few more deep breaths.
Inviting gentle movement back in the body,
Maybe wiggling fingers,
Toes,
Rolling out the wrists.
Just letting yourself breathe in these feelings for a few more deep breaths.
