Happy Winter Solstice or Yule.
My name is Jenny and in this short guided meditation,
I will be taking you on a little journey for the celebration of Winter Solstice.
So this is for anybody who wants to tune into this energy.
I have been celebrating Yule in the Winter Solstice now as a witch for almost three decades.
And one of the things I like to focus on at this time is mending.
So we will be focusing on mending.
So take a moment,
If you're not already comfortable,
Get yourself in a comfortable position.
You may wanna wrap a blanket and feel cozy.
You don't have to be in the perfect spinal position.
This is just a cozy guided meditation.
Let yourself relax.
And when you're ready,
If it feels safe to do so,
Please close your eyes and take a few deep breaths.
So we're just taking some deep breaths to tune us into the moment.
So if you'd like to put your hands on your belly or your chest,
You're slowly inhaling until you feel like a good amount of breath,
You feel comfortable,
And then slowly exhaling.
And you can sigh these out.
You can do a straw breath where you purse your lips and you blow it out.
Or you can just simply breathe in and out through your nose,
Whatever feels comfortable.
So you're taking deep breaths,
Letting yourself be here in the moment.
And as you take these deep breaths,
If your mind starts to wander or you're feeling fidgety,
Just let yourself be.
Just simply observe what's going on with your mind or your body and just let them go.
Don't try to control what's going on.
If that's how your body needs to move or your mind needs to wander,
Just keep trying to call it back.
Let's take another deep breath.
And if you can,
I'd like you to work on just kind of letting your feet and your toes relax as much as feels good to you.
And then moving up to your legs,
Letting your legs kind of let go of any tension they're holding if there's pain there.
It's okay to acknowledge that,
But we're not gonna dwell.
We're just going to try our best to relax our legs,
Let them feel kind of heavy,
And then relax your pelvis.
There's a lot of tension that's held in the pelvis,
The lower back,
The hips.
To your best of your ability,
Try to let yourself relax that part of your body.
Relax your belly and your back,
Your chest.
Relax your shoulders.
And what does relax mean?
Relax might mean shifting the position of the body or it might mean breathing into that area or it might mean seeing if there's tension there and can you release it.
You're gonna move down to your arms,
Down to your hands and your fingers.
Try not to be making fists or gripping.
Try to let the hands and the fingers relax as much as possible.
Moving up to the neck and the jaw,
You might wanna do a fake yawn.
Stick your tongue out,
Let your jaw go,
Let it relax.
Let your eyes relax.
If you don't wanna close your eyes,
Just let them kind of space out,
Right?
Do a little drishti,
A little unfocused eyes.
Let's take another deep breath.
And now I want you to envision yourself standing at the edge of a forest.
So behind you is a forest and in front of you is a clearing.
And it's winter but you're very warm and you're cozy,
You're snug and you're very safe.
So there's this beautiful forest behind you.
So if you look over your shoulder,
You can see this beautiful winter forest.
In front of you is this clearing of snow and there's a cozy little cabin in the middle of this clearing.
It has a light on,
You can see smoke coming out of the chimney.
And it's just the perfect winter scene.
It's this sweet,
Cozy cabin in the woods and it's inviting you.
You might even smell like a warm soup or stew or tea.
You can see the smoke coming out of the chimney.
The forest is behind you.
And now you're going to walk towards the cabin.
And as you're walking towards the cabin,
You feel a calling,
You know this is your cabin,
This is your place in your heart,
A cozy cabin for you to go during winter and rest and reflect.
And you open the door and it's beautiful inside.
It's exactly how you would want a cabin to look.
It has all of your favorite furnishings and decorations.
It's all your favorite colors.
It's very,
Very cozy.
There's very comfortable chairs and a warm fire with a beautiful hearth.
And it just feels so relaxing because this is a little cozy cabin of your heart.
This is yours.
And you go in there and you look around and you smile,
You know this is your safe space.
And you find a very comfortable chair by the fire and you sit down and you feel so at home,
So at peace.
And in this safe space,
This is a place that you can safely reflect.
You can sit here,
You can contemplate,
You can listen,
You can learn,
You can receive all that winter needs to tell you,
All that this solstice needs to tell you.
And as you look around,
You realize it's a safe place to do that.
You feel good,
You take another deep breath and you start to reflect.
And the first thing I would like you to think about is what in your life means mending?
Now,
This could be actual physical things.
You might have a bit of a to-do list,
A home to-do list.
You may have some things you need to go donate or patches to fix or some socks you wanna adorn.
You might have some things on your calendar you wanna clear off or some appointments you need to make.
It's just some little tasks,
Right?
That might be the kind of mending that's popping to mind.
And don't worry,
You don't have to rush to go write these things down.
They'll come to you after the meditation.
But these are things that you just feel like,
Yes,
This winter,
I wanna mend these things.
I wanna fix these things or I wanna at least make plans to do that.
Or they might be relationships.
These might,
The mending that comes up could be what relationships could I do better with,
Right?
Am I really deeply listening to my loved ones?
Am I really forgiving those that need to be forgiven?
Am I doing my best as a partner or a parent or as a friend or as a daughter or son,
Right?
Am I doing my best by the people around me?
Or it could be what means mending in my own relationship with myself.
Are you taking care of yourself?
Are you practicing real deep self care?
Are you giving yourself the love that you need?
Are you listening to your intuition?
So I'd like you to take a moment and no judgment.
There's absolutely no judgment on what needs mending,
But take a moment to think about what needs mending at this time.
And you could have something in every one of the categories mentioned,
Or you may pick one thing you just wanna focus on.
So take a moment to think about it and then try to pick a few that you wanna focus on in a moment and I'll be quiet.
I'm just gonna stay quiet for a little bit so that you can answer those questions on mending.
So we're thinking about mending with ourselves,
Mending relationships with others,
Or actual physical tasks or organizational mending that we need to do at this time.
So any one of those areas.
Once you have your mending that needs to be done,
I would like you to look at the fire or if you're not a visual person,
You get a sense of this instead,
Or feeling of this.
Look towards your hearth and your cozy cabin.
And on the hearth,
On the mantle,
You will see a fresh candle,
A beautiful white candle and a box of matches.
And I want you to get up and I want you to take the candle and the matches.
And I want you to speak or think to the candle what needs mending.
And you're going to be asking for this fire to come in and give you the fire,
The energy,
The light to do all of the mending you need to do at this time.
So you're asking on this winter solstice that the light return and it sweep through and it give you the energy for the mending,
For everything you wanna fix and feel good about for the coming spring.
So all the little mending and ideas and organization and all the things you have in mind,
You're asking this candle to light with the fire of the energy that you need.
And as the candle burns down,
The energy will come to you,
Right,
Of this solstice.
This is how spell work works.
So take a moment and hold the candle in your visualization and think about all the things you want to mend,
The tasks,
The relationships,
What's going on with self,
The relationship with self.
And then strike your match,
Light your candle and place it on the mantle.
Take a moment to see it glow and know that this candle will continue to burn as you leave your cozy cabin and your hearth and it will lend you the energy you need in this winter to do the work you need to do,
To do the mending,
To feel good and ready when spring comes.
And take one last look at your cozy cabin,
Look around and know that you can return to this cabin without this meditation.
This is the cabin of your heart and it's here all winter for you to return to again and again to reflect,
To rest,
To do spell work.
You're gonna look around,
You know that because this is a cabin in your heart,
The fire will burn safely.
You're going to close the door,
You're gonna leave,
You're gonna close the door.
You're gonna walk through the snow and right back into the present moment.
You're here,
You're now,
Feel your body,
Take a deep breath,
Listen to the sounds around you,
Maybe smile or swallow,
Slowly open your eyes when you're ready.
And if you have the time,
I highly suggest journaling about your experience and what mending came up for you.
And I hope you have a beautiful Yule winter solstice.
Blessed be.
