This is a guided meditation that is designed to help individuals experiencing abandonment pain process the sensations and thoughts of abandonment. Many times, fear avoidance occurs with abandonment pain. The desire to run may be a response that has helped us feel safe in the past. However, in this meditation, we choose to be open to these sensations of abandonment with mindfulness and breathing. As we hold space for dark aspects of the mind, we are able to become free of the suffering of the mind. We then ultimately are able to connect back to internal safety and connectivity in the now.
