The gentle constriction helps to slow the exhale down while simultaneously creating the gentle sound of waves in the sea. Connecting with the sounds of nature that are within us helps to get back in touch with our self-as-nature. The sound of the ocean, a gentle breeze, the whisper of a seashell... Ujjayi also means "One Who Is Victorious". So,using the breath at the start of the day can help you feel balanced and steady in your power.
