Welcome,
Friends.
As we age,
We may wish to live more lightly.
As we withdraw from the daily battles,
Leaving them to the younger people,
We may wish to be more spirit,
Less body.
Renter each room,
Each conversation,
As more mind and less thought.
This drink,
We may wish to take to our lips and hold the touch of the cool liquid.
You know this drink.
This meal,
We may wish to take in,
In thought,
Aware of the texture and the taste as new things.
These words,
We may wish to offer as discrete gifts,
Offered up out of the peace of silence.
As we age,
We may wish to live more lightly and move through our days,
The rooms of our lives,
Without raising a whisper of disturbance,
Not a ripple on the surface of our ways.
Let us pass lightly,
Loving and being loved,
And allow the world to unfold.
