In this short meditation, we’ll focus our sense of awareness along the spine in four conscious breaths, rest in the silence of being, and observe one quality of mind that arises in the silence: sounds that form words when attended to. By fostering a deeper awareness of the unformed sounds that arise and, when allowed to, pass away, we deepen our commitment to awakening. Throughout our day, we can consciously attune to silence as a foundation of presence in which sounds arise calling for our attention, thus allowing them to pass so that we might be more present.
