Aging Wisely: Self-Improvement
As we age, and move into a life post-career, perhaps with mature families, we may find that we have arrived at a place that is not quite what we had expected. And with this awareness may arise a feeling of uneasiness. With mindful awareness, we can reflect upon the origins of this desire perhaps tracing it to early experiences when we were told that we were not, in some way, “good enough,” which, for some of us, initiated a lifelong self-improvement project. Now, with greater space for wisdom, we can reflect upon this journey and soften and even uproot the desire for self-improvement, making space for greater being.
