Letting go,

Letting be,

And letting in.

Take this moment to get centered and comfortable,

Finding your way into a nice,

Relaxing position where you feel receptive and open,

Quiet and strong.

Take a few deep breaths in through the nose and out through the mouth with a big sigh,

Letting go all of the day.

And as you start to settle in,

Just begin to touch and connect with the sensations in your body,

Noticing where you feel tension or constriction and starting to soften those areas with the breath and with your attention.

And then noticing the quality,

Content and speed of your thoughts in this moment.

Not making any particular thought right or wrong or good or bad,

But just allowing yourself to be where you are as you witness the thoughts that are passing through right now.

And finally,

Drop into your heart and witness the huge emotional landscape and range you have for feelings.

And just see what's alive today,

One or a combination of different textures of emotions.

And as with the thoughts,

Just welcome them,

Welcome them home right here.

And then just breathing a few more times deeply at your own pace and your own rhythm in the way that your body would like to be breathed.

And then find your way into an imagining in your mind's eye that you have a little time machine that you can enter.

Buckle your seatbelt and take it back all the way to the beginning of this year,

January,

New Year's Eve.

You don't have to remember the exact specificities of where you were,

What you were doing,

But just starting to take that time machine back to thinking about how things were in that time in your life and what you were looking forward to or involved in.

And just walking yourself through the different months of the year.

And as you go,

Just noting without identifying with it or getting swept away in any of the feelings,

Just noticing what were some of the challenges of this year.

Can be chronological as you think of them in order or it can be just flashes before your eyes.

But as you recall some of these challenges,

Send yourself who lived these challenges through,

Send yourself compassion and courage and love and strength.

See that you were doing the best you could with what you had in that moment and send yourself some forgiveness and grace.

What I am statement can you say now,

Having lived through those challenges?

How are you as a result of them?

For example,

I am wiser.

I am more resilient.

Send your words that have come out of these low points in the year.

And if there's grief or heartache,

Losses,

Disappointments,

You can place one hand over your heart and the other over that one and just take a few breaths into that space,

Letting Who or what do you want to relinquish attachment to in order to be more fully here?

Let yourself do that now just in your mind's eye,

Integrating and letting go of what happened.

And then you can place your hands back on your lap or by your sides and begin to look for the lessons of this year.

Where from those hardship moments or from other places,

Where did you grow?

When a seed is in the ground and it has potential in order for it to blossom under the ground,

It needs to break open.

It needs to crack.

So where did you break open a little bit more this year?

And what did you fill that life with or what can you now infuse inside those places and spaces that long for your love?

What lessons did you learn?

What insights do you have now that you didn't know before?

And you can give the self of the past a hug and a recognition honoring a little bow to let them know that you have taken these tools and these gifts that that self has gleaned and that you are ready to keep them as part of your toolkit,

As part of your whole offering to yourself and to the world.

Recognizing all the places that you have learned something now.

What are your key takeaways from last year?

In slowing down in some capacity or in facing what you faced last year,

Did something reveal itself to you regarding what matters most to you?

Were you pared down to the essential you to what's important and what were those things?

What's important?

What matters to you?

Another deep breath here as you transition from the lessons of the last year and connect with the highlights,

The good times,

The moments that made you laugh,

The moments that made you smile,

The moments that you felt connected,

The moments that you felt peace,

The moments that you might have even felt joy,

Surprisingly even.

What were some of the moments that you can celebrate or give yourself credit for or just acknowledge that you felt were good ones?

Just take a moment to let those wash over you now as well.

Who or what was involved in these moments?

What made them so special?

What lit you up in times of darkness?

What kept you going?

Who could you rely on?

Another deep breath here,

Maybe a soft smile or the energy of it even if your lips stay still in this moment.

Then bring the time machine through all of those memories flashing through this present moment and then take a journey forward to the end of the year ahead and the beginning of the one after that.

This new year that we're on the cusp of has now been complete and you are looking back.

So when you look back from the year ahead,

What do you want to have seen?

What do you want to feel?

What do you want to restore?

What are you a little afraid of and that you want to send yourself some courage in advance?

Send yourself some resources to be able to handle whatever's coming next.

What's on the horizon for the year ahead and that when you look back on it will make you feel fulfilled or proud or complete or satisfied.

What do you hope that you will have learned that looking back you can say,

Yes,

I lived with that knowing in every step I took or the most I could muster.

Who do you want to have been a part of the year ahead and so that when you look back you know that your year was filled with connecting with them in some capacity.

And how do you want to show up in the year that's coming?

What was your theme of the year,

The way that you committed to being that you are on the cusp of right now?

See it all unfold now,

Not just what you want but what matters unfolding.

And of course there's so much unknown.

How will you dance with the unknown?

How will you meet it?

How will you ride through its waters?

What do you love today that you can love tomorrow even more fully,

Even more deeply?

And what do you have to relinquish?

How will you get out of your own way so that you can love more fully?

And looking back from the end of this year to all the moments and time that has elapsed,

What do you hope you'll be able to say?

I feel I know about myself that I understand that I feel blessed by I feel grateful for.

And then taking another deep breath,

Maybe wiggling the fingers and toes just a tad just to remind yourself of the movement in life,

Coming back to stillness and taking that time machine right back to the now,

Right back into your body,

Into your present state of mind and heart.

And now look forward to this new year that we're on the cusp of.

What is your intention?

Who do you say that you are today that you'll get to live into and live out tomorrow?

How does showing up in that way impact those around you and impact your life?

And just bringing yourself back now to the room that you're in by wiggling the fingers and toes again and slowly,

Softly when you're ready,

Bringing that intention to life right here right now.

When you open your eyes looking around at the textures and shapes and colors of the objects in the room that you're in.

As if you're seeing them for the first time almost.

You're just arriving into this space and letting yourself carry all that you've been and all that you are becoming right here in your being.

Wishing you a beautiful day and a beautiful year ahead.

Namaste.
