Meditation.

Breathe for energy.

Connect with the power and energy of your breath with this short meditation.

Take this time to feel the energizing power of your breath.

If you can,

Find somewhere quiet to sit where you won't be distracted.

Sit comfortably.

Place your feet flat on the ground and slightly apart.

Rest your hands on your knees.

Allow your spine to lengthen upwards through the top of your head,

Like a string is pulling your spine up easily and gently,

Releasing any tension from your shoulders.

Feel them dropping.

Slightly tuck your chin to bring more length to the back of your neck.

Open your forehead and allow your eyes to gently close if this feels comfortable.

Now,

Feel the heaviness of your diaphragm.

Allow your belly muscles to really relax.

Feel your diaphragm move into this space in your belly,

Easily,

Gently.

Open your mouth slightly and breathe in and out,

In and out.

Feel your belly rise up as you breathe in and feel it drop as you breathe out.

In and out,

In and out.

With the flow of your breath,

Allow your shoulders to drop further,

Gradually dropping more and more as you breathe in and out,

Sinking into the chair.

In and out,

In and out.

Now,

Close your mouth and feel the outside air enter in through your nostrils,

In through your nose and out through your mouth.

Feel the slight coolness as the air hits the very front of your nose.

Feel how the air is colder than your body temperature,

Going in through your nose and hitting the back of your throat.

Feel it sliding down the back of your throat and into your belly,

In through your nose and out through your mouth.

Now,

Imagine this air is bringing life,

Bringing energy into your body.

Feel the air as part of a universe full of energy.

Energy that exists all around you,

Sense this universal energy.

The energy that is in the earth,

That is in the furniture that you are sitting on,

That is in the sun that heats you,

That heats the earth.

In the wind that blows all around,

In the air you are breathing right now.

Air that is sometimes soft and gentle,

Sometimes strong and powerful.

Breathe it in slowly and out slowly,

In and out,

In and out.

In the life energy that is in the rain that falls,

Sometimes gently,

Sometimes powerfully.

The energy that is in the seas and oceans that are constantly moving around the world.

The ebb and flow of the tides.

The water that creates the clouds,

That allows the rain,

That moistens the air that we are now breathing in and out,

In and out.

All this universal energy that is all around us,

Always.

That we can imagine filling our body right here,

Right now.

Entering in through our nose,

Down through our throat,

Filling up our lungs,

As our belly slowly rises and falls.

Rich energy in our lungs,

That is entering our blood system through the walls of our lungs.

Energy now in our blood,

As it is being pushed around our body by the pumping of our heart.

Energy circulating to all parts of our body.

Our arms,

Our fingers,

Our neck,

The top of our head,

All around our face,

Our diaphragm,

Our stomach,

Our tailbone,

Down each leg,

Into our feet and out to each of our toes.

Then coming back up and being continually replenished with new blood full of the enriched oxygen,

The energy of the universe.

Using your breath as a continual source of good cleansing energy.

Nourishing our body with every breath in and every breath out.

In and out,

In and out.

Take a few last long full deep breaths in through your nose and out through your mouth.

You now feel very energized and more focused.

When you are ready,

Bring your attention back to your body by wiggling your toes,

Wiggling your fingers and then stretching gently.

Open your eyes and sit quietly for a moment.

Enjoy this feeling.

You can create this feeling again during the day by simply reconnecting with your breath and thinking of the word energy.
