This is a twelve-minute guided meditation with background music helping you to flow through life with grace and equanimity. Often times, we see ourselves to be the victim of life. As if life was happening to us and we are the passive partaker. In truth, we are the creator of life. When you become like water when you don’t resist but flow through life with a sense of wonder and curiosity as well as grace and equanimity the journey called ‘life’ becomes beautiful. Arrive in your comfortable seated posture take a moment to make any last little adjustments and then arrive in stillness sitting upright with your spine long,

Your shoulders relaxing back and down neck long,

Eyes gently closed begin by bringing your awareness into the here and now using your breath as your anchor focus your full awareness onto your breath the sensations that the inhalations and exhalations create in your body one breath after the other connect to your breath,

Connect to the here and now settle into stillness when life throws you into difficult situations,

When something bad happens,

How do you react?

How does this make you feel?

Are you asking why is this happening to me?

What did I do to deserve this?

Do you feel to be the victim?

Is there the notion of life being unfair,

The world being unfair?

Are you the victim and life is happening to you?

Are you seeking to control the situation,

To change it,

To make it better,

To feel less pain?

Is there annoyance,

Anger,

Resentment of what is?

Is there the wanting for things to be different?

The wanting to end the current feeling and replace it with a more pleasant feeling?

Are you caught between pain and desire,

Between dissatisfaction and the longing for things to be different?

Are you upset with the world for how life has treated you or is treating you?

Do you feel to be the victim of life?

Is your mind activated trying to make things look better,

Trying to see the good and the bad?

Thank you mind for attempting to bring the situation back under control,

To change how I feel in and about the situation.

Thank you mind for doing your job,

For leading my sense of I away from the unpleasant feelings and towards a sense of happiness and satisfaction.

Your mind is trying to make the situation better,

That's what the mind does,

It's the minds job.

These mechanisms of the mind are based on the underlying assumption that the sense of I you are experiencing is the victim,

That the situation is bad and that life has happened to you,

That life is unfair.

That this is not the truth,

This is the minds perception of what is happening,

This is far from the truth.

Life is not unfair,

Life is not happening to you,

Life is just happening,

Life is happening around you and through you.

You are not the victim,

You are not the passive partaker in life,

You are the experiencer of life,

You are the creator of life.

You can always decide how you respond to life's events,

How you act.

You have the choice to place yourself into victimhood or to flow through life's events with grace and equanimity.

In life there will always be situations and events that trigger you,

That the mind deems as unpleasant.

It is your choice what you do with them.

Life is not about avoiding unpleasant situations as this would imply the attempt to control life,

Which is just not possible.

Life is about flowing through the so called ups and downs with a sense of curiosity and wonder as well as grace and equanimity.

As Bruce Lee said,

Be water my friend,

Water does not resist,

Water does not fight,

Water just flows,

Water just finds another way.

Water doesn't feel that it is the victim if there are rocks being placed in its way,

Water just chooses another path.

Be water my friend.

Flow through life with grace,

Ease and equanimity.

It is how you act,

How you respond,

The choice is yours.

You can be whatever you chosen,

It is its trauma.

Remain in this stillness.

Feeling that everything is okay.

You are okay.

Life is good.

You are here to enjoy all of life.

Flowing through life with grace and equanimity.
