Morning Blessing Gifts awaken, stimulate, and deepen meditation and spiritual practice. The meditations provide a friendly, comforting, and accessible way to wake up and affirm the whole self. Each blessing has seven brief paragraphs that offer a welcome to the day, a silent meditation, affirmations of body, heart and soul, a blessing, and a gift for each day. It begins and ends with a ring of a singing bowl.

Transcript

With the tentative blue morning sky in the background,

The low sun keeps the far side of the old and tall trees in shadow,

While it paints the near side with strokes of gold.

The new light demonstrates the curve and mass of the aged trunks,

All the way down to their roots.

Except when wind coaxes tunes from their branches,

How silent these trees stand over the years.

Banish your bluster now,

So that the old silence can return here.

For now be rooted in your own kind of stillness.

Let yourself experience this place and this connection with the earth that your body gives you.

Feel your weight and mass sitting here,

Your trunk,

Your limbs,

And your roots to the morning light of your awareness,

The conscious act that both highlights what is near and shadows the underside.

Know that all feelings are necessary,

That both ecstasy and pain are part of your life.

Your inner light,

Like the sun,

Has its cycles,

But remember that when your light is dim in one part of your life,

It is blazing in another.

May you take care today to see both what light illuminates and what it casts into darkness.

Your gift today is to have roots.
